Protein shake with skim milk or water?

Had a shake yesterday after my workout and a rather well respected person at my gym told me that I should never have my shakes with skim milk. I was told that it slows down the digestion too much being that the shake was made with skim milk. I don't see how that should effect the digestion because it is low in fat. However I did some research and found that milk is around 80% casein which does slow digestion significantly. Does it really matter how fast the protein is digested or not?
 
whoever "respects" that person is a fucking nitwit.

if youre eating within a few (1-5 or so) hours before your workout, you will still be digesting that meal after your workout and you will still have aminos in your blood. How fast of a protein youre drinking PWO doesnt make a difference. Theres also research that shows a combination of whey/casein could be better than whey alone PWO, and this definitely holds true during other times of the day. If youre eating/drinking carbs PWO like you should (unless you have to stay in ketosis for whatever reason) they will slow down the digestion anyway.

It doesnt make a significant difference either way. Just get some protein and carbs.

Dairy is teh fucking win anyway.
 
in my opinion it depends on which tastes better for ya. i just use water cause im a milk fiend so a gallon of milk typically only lasts 2 or 3 days round me.
 
I mix my Strawberry Cream from N2BM with water, the taste is actually really creamy even with water.

The expesso flavor, I mix with 1 % milk put in 1/2 a cup of coffee & add some ice, and it tastes like iced coffee.. I love it :yumyum:
