Hi there! Im new here and there is great advise on here.Im 36 235 5'11 around my stomach terrible 48 inches.Need to start working out.Diet is problem would like to get down to195.Do I eat 1 gram protien for 235 or what I want to be 195?Thank you for advice.

It ranges anywhere from .75-1.5 per pound of "current" bodyweight. I think 1 per pound is a good starting point. There is a thread by 3J with BMR/tdee calcs and sample diets, i suggest you go there and post up your stats. There are many different ways to diet carb cycle, keto, or just a nice even split of 40/40/20 or any kind of other variation.

There is also a great thread about good macros like fats, proteins and carbs. Read both and post up your info.

i hate this such and such grams per bodyweight CRAP...

im almost 300lbs.. at 1.5 that puts my protein needs in at 450g?? THATS RETARDED!!!!

most will never need to go over 300g protein...

in your situation i would say 250g is what you should shoot for

have you ever though of hiring a nutritional coach?
