Protocol to get off TRT due to possible allergic reaction

I have been on TRT since Jan 1 of this year and in most respects all was good, for a long time...mentally, physically, sexually everything has been good, until recently. The last month or two I stated getting an occasional pins and needles sensation followed by unrelenting excriciating itchiness. It started in my hands and feet, but now travels throughout my body. The incidents have become more common and for some reason it is worse when I work out or do something to break a sweat or raise my heart rate.

Dosages since Jan 1 .........Test Cyp 200 ml 1xper week (Wed)
HCG 500 iu 2xper week (Mon and Fri)
Anastrozole .5 mg 2x per week (Mon and Fri)

I thought might be having an allergic reaction to a vial, but have gone through others, so not likely. Thought it could be a reaction to the HCG so I weaned off that, but it is not better so now I want to get off it all and see if symptoms persist. What is the protocol to use? I still have test, hcg, and anastrozole. Also have some clomid.

You should work with your doctor on doing a "restart".

Have you tried asking your pharmacist to provide different brands? Or ask you doctor to subscribe a substitute? Test E perhaps.

How bad was your hypogonadism prior to TRT?

Well you were on a good dose of HCG to maintain testes function. No way of knowing if you can restart, depends how bad your T was prior. Your on TRT HCG Doses are a Better dose than many folks on here (could handle)
You CAN try 500 I.u 3 times a week for a month or two, stop that and then clomid 12.5- 25 mg ED. Try 0.25 mg adex E3D while on the HCG mono and then run labs and see where you're at.

I'm not a doctor. You should first consult with one in regards to restarting. My advice is not intended to treat, diagnose or cure your medical condition. The advice I give is from my personal experience.

The problem with my doctor is that she does not know jack about TRT. I am a patient of IMT.

Here are the last 2 months of labs.......in October, I noticed E2 was very low, went back and compared older labs and noticed that it had been gradually dropping since starting in January. I thought that may be causing my symptoms, stopped anastrozole for a couple of weeks, E2 back up in next test (November) but symptoms persist. Test was also up in November but that is because I stopped anastrozole but was still taking test and hcg (with no AI). 2 weeks ago, stopped hcg to see if symptoms persist. They do. How long does it take for HCG to be out of my system? Could I be having a reaction to the test? It is from Hallendale pharmacy, CMP test cyp w/zinc, lot#TC20Z167, exp.3-7-15

If nobody has a suggestion, I will likely get off everything to see if symptoms persist. That sucks because trt was helping me until these symptoms arose. Unfortunately, the pins and needles and itchiness get really bad, flashes throughout the day and really bad when I get heated or try to work out. Havent been able to work out for the last month and a half. Rode a bike at the gym today. Ok for 2-3 minutes then it started and drove me crazy. Even without working out, the flashes happen throughout the day. The flashes make me irritable and unable to do anything. Have to go to a room by myself and try to clear my mind and relax, very hard to deal with. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

How long were you on TRT before the symptoms started? If you were on it for months before the symptoms occurred. I would say that likely it wouldn't be caused by the TRT. Have you been donating blood on a regular basis? Have you been taking or added any other medications? Drugs? Alcohol? Stared or stopped smoking? Changed jobs or houses? Changed your diet? Had unprotected sex? There are a bunch of different things that it could be caused from other than TRT, maybe you should try ruling out all those before you proceed with the restart?

I would really think your doc at IMT should be more than able to help you with this. IMT may be able to get you a different type of testosterone too. Why aren't you getting your hCG from IMT?

If it was me, I would try the simple option first. Take an antihistamine medication when you take your next injection - perhaps even daily before bed. Again, your doc or a dermatoligist should be able to help you figure out which one is best. May be as simple as taking some benadryl.
