someone told me that it will blast my chest ,,is that true?
not true. there are alot of variations of the standard push up ,which is admitedly limited, that are extremely chalanging. here are a few top add to any chest workout:LiftTillIDie said:Only if you are extremely weak, to really get bigger you need to progressively increse the weight you use, which is impossible with push ups unless you start stacking weight on your back.

raising both legs on a bench
lifting one leg in the air while executing a set then switching
staggering the hands-one about shoulder heigth and one about the mid section then switch
plyometric push ups-exploding off the ground about 6inches
feet on a wall push up
med ball in center of chest, one hand on ball, execute push up, switch hands execute another back and forth
med ball push up with both hands on ball
push up on a swiss ball
push up with feet on swiss ball
one arm push up
one arm push up with hand on med ball (personal favorite)
one arm push up with alternate leg extended
not to mention any combination of any of these, if you cant find one of these to challenge you i'll eat my med ball............![]()

true that. overall though, i cant say enough about body wieght exercises. nice thing is that you can do most of them without any extra gear. i have had great workouts without lifting any wieghts. but like everything, you limit yourself if you arent well rounded. seriously though see if you can do offset hand push ups(one hand at the shoulder, one at the hip) alternating hands every 10 reps to 100. you will be swole.LiftTillIDie said:Not to say that many of these aren't challenging, hell I can't do one arm pushups. But show me the biggest guy you can find who used only pushups with no additional weight.
