pwo/dextrose?

post workout 50/50? i guess. every body is different. i don't need that much dextrose... my PWO is more like 75% protein, 20% malto, 5% dextrose. immediately pre WO i would do something like 75% dex, 25% malto. and earlier in the day/morning, i'd do 50/50 malto/protein, several times. whatever works; and this works for me.

why would you want sugar at any time of the day besides PWO? ever heard of oatmeal? brown rice? pasta?

but like you said...if it works for you, then go nuts.

exactly! that's why i'm not a fan of the pre-mixed malto/dex! doesn't give you the option. as i noted, i only take the dextro immediately pre, during and post workout. all other times of the day, i avoid it all together. instead, as you mentioned, i do oatmeal, pasta, bread, protein, and some malto. (i order very little dextro compared to malto and especially protein.) again, i'd avoid the 50/50 mix.

i thought you said you have different combination of malto/dex throughout the day...i guess i read it wrong...thats why i asked if youve heard of oatmeal, rice, etc.

50/50 is just one way to do it. You could do all malto, all dex, you could have a bagel, a potato, it doesnt matter that much, just get some carbs.
 
eww...bagels... i miss those. f*#king thais, vietnamese, laotians, etc don't understand a bagel. i have to goto a specialty place in singapore or europe for those. best bagels are still in the states though. yummm yummm fuck, now i'm starving again.
 
yea...just drink it with your PWO protein shake. I believe it has about 80g carbs along with the creatine, so it should be all you need PWO besides the protien shake.
 
some people recommend high Gi carbs pre workout (like cell tech), but i like low Gi carbs like oatmeal, or anything whole wheat. I feel like it gives you a steady supply of energy, instead a quick burst and then crashing.

Try this.

Half a serving cell tech pre workout with some oatmeal, whole wheat bread, or some other low Gi carb. Then the other half PWO with dextrose.

See how you like it.

Or just do oatmeal, whole wheat bread, etc preworkout, then a full serving celltech pwo.

Some people just like different things. I know some people like doing things ways that would never work for me.

personally i have eggs and oatmeal for breakfast, then 2g CEE before the gym about 30 -45 minutes after breakfast, then 2g PWO with malto/dex. I like it.
