Q: Storing opened testosterone

Hi guys,

So I've decided to change my injection schedule from 1000mg every 7 weeks (I can only get testosterone undecanoate over here) to 125mg weekly. At the same time I'll be switching from IM to subq injections. Tried one yesterday using a 29G insulin needle, and even though it stung worse than IM it was a lot more convenient.

However...the problem is that it only comes in glass bottles (the one you break the top off with no rubber stopper) so it's not made for multiple uses. I guess I can either load all 8 syringes in one go, but by doing that I only get 6 or 7 out of the 8 shots. The needle doesn't reach the bottom of the vial. Also, the tips of the needle gets a really good rubbing against the glass making it dull as...oh, well

Now, my other option is to use the vial my bacteriostatic water comes in. They should be sterile, right? I was thinking about putting three vials worth of testosterone into one of the water vials (yes, I will empty it first ) and then load the syringes as needed. Any of you have any thoughts on that? Even with tiny crystals, which it shouldn't get even if water and oil don't mix, that shouldn't really be a big problem as it's being injected into fat, should it?

Get luer-lok needles. You can change the tips on them. I draw from a 10ml vial and I put on a 1.5 inch 18 gauge needle for that. Once the syringe is loaded with T I swap that big needle out for a 25g 1 inch needle that I use to inject. If you do this you should be able to pre-load your syringes and store them safely until it is time to inject.

I'm aware of that option, but I'd rather keep it in a vial and prepare the syringe just before use - but if my idea about moving them to another container with a stopper isn't worth following, I will have to do it the way you describe...

if you're going subq 125 mg per shot is a large amount, not only in mg but volume too. Most go 2 or 3 times a week with 30 to 50 mg , did you get a lump ?

It's 0.5cc, so I didn't get a lump. It seemed to spread out in the fat on the bottom of my back real quick.

Ahh so its 250 mg per ml stuff, and you did a .5 cc, will you get blood work so you can let up know how its working? I hear you need less test but more shots per week with subq.

I've heard the same, but...I seem to burn through it really fast plus my SHBG is high. I have to take it intramuscularly every 7 weeks, and even then I have to use testogel for the first week while it starts working. The recommended time for IM shots is every 12-16 weeks...Because of the fact that I should get more stable values and that I've heard people saying they need less with SQ I am dividing the dosage into 8 instead of 7 and will see where it levels off. My endo's probably going to kill me

When you say "more shots per week", I think it sounds like you're talking about a different ester. Testosterone undecanoate, which is the only one we can get in Scandinavia, has a VERY long half time and it takes 7 days for it to even build up to the levels in the shot. As far as I can tell, the active half life of undecanoate is 21 days - no need at all to do shots more than once weekly, unless the aim is to go above 125mg in each shot

That "Nebido" testosterone is what my doctor tried to prescribe me also. It costs a LOT here in the Philippines, and I'm glad I asked the doc to switch me to Test-E instead. Everyone I've heard that's used it complains that it doesn't last 3 months, as advertised.


Hopefully you can have better luck with a smaller shot every week-

Aøejandro, Yeah...3 months is bull. You start out fine, then gradually decrease to the levels of an 80 year old castrated munk. Unfortunately, it's the only thing you can get here - and it's free. So I'll just have to use it the best way possible. The only other option is testogel, but with my high SHBG that's no good for me either.
