Quickest way to get a personal training liscence?

Dlove

Product of Test
Guy's just curious, there is an immediate opening at a brand new gym in town for a PT and I was asked to be the one.

Basically, I have never got certified because what the fuck is a peice of paper. I learned all my shit right here, HuskyGuy, Mikea, Milkman, DaDawg, Dave Tate video's and Wendler along with Bill Starr. Hence there was never a need to get a certificate.

There's boat load's of sites it appears that you can buy one the same way you can buy a fake degree.

Anyone got any suggestions on that?

Also my chic was asked to teach Yoga, but need's a certificate, she is wicked at yoga, I'm talking Jean Claude Van Dam shit, like standing on her head with leg spread and hold for a minute, any thought's/suggestions?

I wanna take her class

All kidding aside my buddy just got his cert thru an online course. He's a pretty bright guy both in knowledge and book smart and said it was a bitch. Passed it first shot but said it took him 2 months of prep/study. He said he would have never passed it without the study and he's a lifelong gymrat.

He got the ACE certificate. If you can get a fake cert and it works for you well i guess that would work. If you go the legit route I doubt its something that you can get just based on your knowledge of lifting and training.

Ace is the shit, it's legit!!! I took it away's back and YES it was a CRAZY bitch of a test.

I just found and bought the old lady the Yoga Cert and it's legit, but it even said the exact same thing you kinda said, it said it could take you a week or a yr to pass. It was from a site called expertrating that apparently pan's out after doing some research on it. They trick you though, first it was like 50 bucks to get the ball rolling and then to buy the certificate and take the exam it was another 50 and there is one other part asking for 50 I'm not real clear on. I didn't know how much these yoga instructor's made until I just made a phone call to a friend who is big into it. As for me, I'm still on the look out for the fake PT cert cause that ACE was very hard I flunked it twice now thinking back. And the PT trainers in town here don't make shit but the yoga instructors rock it out. So hopefully she can do her thing. I think Dave Tate, Wendler, Bill Starr, Louie Simmons would laugh at someone if they were asked if they were certified. Most knowledge ive learned is trial and error and learning from the vets on here starting six yrs ago. Basically high intensity/low volume and coordinating your diet to meet your goals. But these places require a peice of paper.

Yea I hear ya. He's one of the most knowledgeable guys i know when it comes to fitness, rehab and nutrition and he told me there was no way he passes without the curriculum. It was expensive as shit too. The course was like $500 or $600 and the test is I think maybe $200 first shot then $120 second and third attempts. Worked out well for him cause he can work with getting his wife certified now and can sit there and take the online test for her if needed.

They are pretty smart though, they make you send the name(s) of who is studying the guide with you and allow one other to take the test.

Come to think of it.......If he knew ahead of time he could "sell" a cert by giving a name and taking the test for that person

Man my mind thinks in corrupt ways lol

NASM requires you to know all kinds of things, even about the heart, I felt it was pretty detail oriented. It did run about $599 though, and if you finished that in a week you'd be a fucking badass (even reading that much would be nuts).

Find the shittiest, dumbest cert and get it - if they aren't smart enough to require a certain group of the big 3 or 4.

Im going for ACSM cert its acredited by the NCCA
Like mudge mention there are different types of certs,if you want one that is recognized get one thats accredited

NCCA is not a DoE approved accreditation, and ISSA is Recognized by the DoE/DETC and you can even have it paid for by the Military. I did my tests and study in a few weeks, the final has some good tough questions... been with them since 02.

(nothing against ACSM as a cert.. just some misinformation out there concerning their accreditation.)
