raising low ferritin levels with iron supplementation

Yes, ferrous bi-glycinate and ferrous sulfate. The former is supposed to be easier on digestion, but I didn't notice a difference. both contained around 60mg elemental iron and I took that amount per day for about 3 months.

Would you say you felt an increase in well being/energy during that period of iron supplementation?
(With more so toward the end)

Didn't feel anything. I didn't have any symptoms when I started either - I was just treating the low ferritin number.

My irregular heartbeat didn't start until more recently even though my ferritin number was (slightly) higher.
I don't know for sure that the two are related, but it seems like the mostly likely cause to me.

I'm finally seeing a cardiologist today, will see what she says.

Met with the cardiologist, she was very reassuring about the palpitations being a benign thing.

She seemed skeptical that low ferritin could be the cause in the absence of any other indications of anemia.

They took some blood, waiting to see what they say about my hct around 53... they are not doing my TRT.
I was half expecting some kind of lecture on TRT from the cardiologist, but got nothing of the kind.
Still doing echocardiogram tomorrow, but that's mostly for peace of mind - she isn't expecting any problems.

What do you mean: "they are not doing my TRT" ?

Just an update: I've been supplementing with magnesium citrate (about 500mg per day) and after about a week my heart palpitations have completely stopped. Been feeling great for about 5 days now. Can't be certain that the magnesium helped, but it feels like it.

Last lab work still had hct at 52 (and ferritin at 18), but donated platelets yesterday and registered 48 on the ultracrit (pretty well hydrated).

ECG and EKG apparently looked great, palpitations even if present are benign. I'm going to try to stop worrying for a while, continue on a reduced TRT dose until everything is back under control.
