Raw Eggs

statistics show that 1 in 30,000 eggs may be contaminated with salmonella but that doesn't mean a contaminated egg will make you sick.

ive read that it is actually one in 3 million, that risk carrying salmonella. I do down a few raw egg whites every morning. chased with grapefruit juice, can hardly taste it.
 
alot of BB shy away from the raw egg now days. Even though I posted all this great info I only drink them every now and then. I eat omlits with onions,bell peppers and cheese now. But I will garantee you that the big boys still do this!!!!!!!!
 
is there a point when you can eat too many raw eggs?

I've been eating raw eggs and "trying" to eat tuna as it is light and I can stil consume more food within half hour or so. doesn't make me feel bloated from eating all day.

But when do you start crossing the line of eating too many? right now I average 8 raw a day on top of all my other protein sources.

You will know you eat to many when you need to start running to the bathroom and blowing them out like theres no tommorow. I used to do the raw egg in a blender thing even thought I was Rocky for a day and drank them. Fuck that now. I used to have no appetite when waking up so I got some egg white powder and just throwed like 2 whole eggs in my shake. I dont whats up but the past yr or so I wake up and wish I was at fuckin Thanksgiving day dinner. Ill eat pork chops with eggs over light and oats, or Pot Roast from night before.
So many people make the mistake of over-eating and wasting protein which gets stored as fat. Now grant it I can eat two dozen eggs a day 6 of them yolks. But I weigh a good bit. So a lot of it depends on your weight. Drop the raw eggs their so easy and clean to make in a quality skillet. As far as the tuna dont over eat that either start eating salmon in the can red salmon good shit. Help you avoid mercury poisoining.
 
I eat raw eggs all the time. Usually about 10 a day. I've heard that getting salmonella would be detrimental to one's training so lately I have been consuming raw liquid egg whites because they are less likely to contain the bacteria. Better for you too - less fat.

Really I was more referring to the cholesterol part of it.
I usually break it up only eat 2 or three at a time wait for 1/2 hr to 45 min. then eat a meal. I figure by then the eggs are being digested and by the time those are done my body is just starting to digest the solid food at a much slower rate.
I hate fish though :( I know it is great protien, but ever since my old step mother made me sit there for hours until I ate all of my "cold" fish when I was like 7 or 8 I wont touch it. I will try the salmon in the can though. I have to make myself like it, all there is to it.

I haven't really heard this philosophy yet Taz but if it's working for you keep it up. As far as the cholesterol just eat mostly whites. I like 3 yolks and 7 whites that yields about 46 grams of protein easy to digest. Make a cup of oats and theres another 10grams of protein. If your around two hundred pounds thats a decent breakfast for ya. If your heavy drink a cup of casein protein shake with your breakfast and theres 82 grams of protein. Little flax oil and your good to go first meal. You can blend all that if you want but gulping down 3yolks and 7 whites isn't my cup of tea. That breakfast is not bad on cholesterol especially when eggs are made in olive oil.

Very true bro!!!!!!!! I get up in the morning and have 2 whole eggs and 3 egg whites. I eat 1 cup of special K protein cereal with 1 cup of 2% milk. This my friend is a good breakfast!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I often drink the pasteurized egg whites either straight up or in a shake.

My organic, omega three eggs on the other hand get scrambled followed by either Frank's hot sauce or Cholula.
 
true, there is a very low chance of getting salmonella. but why risk it??

even though the chance is 1 in 30 000 it still only takes one egg to make you sick. I would rather not experience salmonella.

Your chances of getting food poisoning at a mcdonalds is like 100x more likely than it is from eating raw eggs.
 
I had this discussion with Needsize the other day at work. I've been drinking about 1liter fo egg whites a day for the past couple months. They are cheap at costco and I just twist off the top, pour a little chrystal lite in, shake it up and down it. Its a perfect little meal and quick. Throw a cup of oats down and you got the perfect meal.
I pound back two of these meals a day.
