Self-administer TRT until specialist appt? (9 month waitlist)

Hey guys, so Ive had symptoms of low t for a few years now (low libido/energy, hard time focusing) and have had my levels checked. My test is 10.5nmol (ref range 9-28). And lately, Ive had trouble staying hard. At 24 years old I feel this is very low, and I recently did one cycle of test and virtually all my symptoms subsided. So I have an apt with a clinic that specializes in testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), but the wait time is 9 months to a year. So my question is should I self-administer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) at 100-150mg/week until then? And just stop a few weeks before the apt? I have given this a lot of thought and the pros seem to outweigh the cons, as I don't mind being on for life I just want quality living. Any feedback is appreciated

thats what i would do or you could try taking some clomid instead

I have tried clomid, it raises my lh and fsh above normal range but does not increase my test significantly. So testes are receiving the signal to produce more test but aren't functioning properly

Find another doctor. There is no reason to wait that long for medical help. Or if you can't find a local doctor try a clinic like IMT. Lots of guys on this board will vouch for them and they should be able to get you going immediately.

Don't treat yourself. Your hormones are complicated and you need the help of a good doctor to help you get things figured out.

It sounds very much with the figures he used that he is in the UK bro which would also explain the 9 month wait as I had an 11 month wait as we have the NHS here which is just a laugh at the waiting times.

As Megatron says though, your hormones are complicated so be careful.......If you really feel the need to self medicate use Test Enth or Cyp at 150mg per week with 0.25 Arimidex twice a week.

I am in Canada, and testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) clinics are not as available as in the States. Hell even to see my family doctor the wait is over 2 months so I always end up goin got the walk in if I need anything

Great post, it is our opinion that those under 30 have a very thorough diagnostic done in order to rule out any underlying issues that could be reducing your testosterone levels and more importantly giving you negative symptoms.

If you have low testosterone levels at a young age there is a much better chance that you have an underlying or lifestyle issue that is causing your low testosterone. When over 30 it is more likely that it can be deemed Adult-Onset Idiopathic Hypogonadism and warrants testosterone supplementation.

Good Luck

I'm in Canada too and I get so frustrated with the information out there about our FREE healthcare. Should see my taxes. LOL

I'm in a simlar situation, looking to self medicate until I can find a Doctor. My Total Test was 12.2 NMOL/L which I believe equals 351 ng/dl. I am 50 years old and all I get from my family doctor is that it is normal for my age. Well I'd like it to be normal for a 35 year old.

I saw the advice above about 150mg/week of Test and Arimidex @.25 twice a week. Would anyone also suggest Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) along with this?

Also, what does IMT need to work with someone in Canada? Or can you work with someone in Canada?

I apologize as I posted some of this on another thread. I mentioned I am on a cycle now of Dbol/Test/Deca and want to go right into testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doses after.

Thanks for any help gentlemen.

im in canada also.
if you do do it on your own maye sure ot stop 2 months before test to be sure its low before they test. i really think you should wait though till your seen

If it was me, I'd probably self medicate. But my advice is, if you can take it, wait for appointment... Lol

I honestly cant see myself waiting a year, and even then who knows what they'll say at my appointment. It might be another 6+ months of bloods/restarts that I know will be uneffective. Im planning on running 1/2cc of test e every 5 days, which equals 175mg/week along with adex at 0.5mg 2x/week

Youre near Toronto bro? Im an hour away, look into Masters Mens clinic in Burlington that's where Ill be going, but its a long wait. Its sad because youre 50 and have higher levels than me lol, but even at your age you feel the need for it so I definitely would benefit from it aswell. To answer your question you could run 500iu of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) (split into 2 doses) per week if you want to keep your balls plump and ready

Damn everybody talks about how good it is to have free healthcare but you have to wait 9months?Thats not worth a damn.

It is a special clinic that is one of the most popular in Ontario hence the wait. Im sure I could get a referral to an endo much sooner but I feel like theyd be less likely to put a 24 year old on trt

I'm at the other end of Toronto. Near Oshawa actually so Burlington would be pretty far. We have one clinic specializing in it out here and the wait is likely about the same. But I here the Doctor who does it is almost 80 years old, and looks 60, so this may really work. LOL

My GP referred me to a urologist and I see them in 2 weeks. I will bring my blood work from October as I am ending a cycle, and my test would likely be through the roof now. So I need to stall for new blood work which in our system won't be a problem. If I find it is getting too ridiculous, as I am sure I will, I will go the self medicate route and get some blood work done on a regualr basis. Just not sure what to tell them why I need it.

Thanks for the HCG information Cross88. So it is 500iu per week right? Would you suggest a higher dose at the beginning of my "cruise" on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dosage since I am coming off a cycle of DBOL/TEST/DECA.

I'm thinking I should not bother with post cycle therapy (pct) and go right on 200mg TEST E per week/ 1 mg Arimidex every week / and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG). Just not sure what to start at for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG).

Would I split the TEST E into 100mg twice a week too? I imiagine I may as well if I am adding HCG to the shot.

Or would you (or others) suggest me doing post cycle therapy (pct) first, then going on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dosages.

Thanks for your help.
