Anyone ever have a problem doing it, I was trying to send a Moneygram to an uncle of mine. But they gave me a hard time, asking me where I met them, what was it for. I told them it was to help them out, they said they would'nt do it or I would have to come into a location.

Should I just use western union next time? Anyone else have this problem. He needs the money so I want to know the best way to get it to him. It was for under 500 bucks so I didnt know they would give me such a hastle.

But i would just find a nother location to send the money by money gram. and that doesnt work western union it.

was this recent. thats some strange requests.

they do it because of the amount of people that get frauded by overseas or out of country scams. They are doing it so you don't lose your money, my friend works in a bank and they do it basically so the people don't come back saying that the money was never sent and so on...just a precaution

Never had any questions asked or problems with western union or money gram. Keep it under 1k at a time and go to a location with cash

Go to a location. I use MG no prob. Wal marts around here have the MG option and never a q asked. Bring cash, fill out form and that's that.

I don't think it's MG vs WU, but the location. With MG being at wal mart where I am, they don't care. Not to stereotype wal mart employees, but any one I've ever encountered has been pretty apathetic when it comes to that sort of thing.

I think if the location is at a bank, they tend to care more.

Thats odd, I naver had an issuie, they ask a few Q's but then the money goes, WTF do they care there getting some out of it. BUT I have ALWAYS gone in, weather it be W.U. or money gram.
so it might be because your trying to do it over phone? still sounds like BS.
W.U is easyer BUT your gonna pay more service charge.

Never had an issue either. When I WU money they ask me need to know questions but thats its. I've gotten asked if I was chinese before but def not the case with me. I just ask her to send my fucking white money to my asian cousins. Works everytime haha

Yea it was because I was online. One trip to Walgreens with cash and everything was clear. No annoying questions or anything.

Emergency Money Transfer Online

I wanted to send money online to some family on a regular basis to help them our while they study in Australia. I thought to use a website called fundfone, which they deliver the cash directly my family's bank account. Although they are about 20 bucks to make the payment. I suppose it's good for some sort of emergency money though. Cheers.

The only place I have had issue with in the past was WU, apparently they have a cap on how much money you can send per year. After a while or when you send higher amounts there is a process you need to go through, supplying your job info and such. I was flat out denied the service and told that my income does not warrant me sending this amount of money in a given time frame. Does not matter what amounts you send it is all tracked in the computer under your name. Back then if I am not mistaken the cap was 10,000 and this was 10 years ago. Now I live in a small community and the only option is MG and have never had any issues what so ever.
