Severe arm pain during press exercises

Hey guys, I have been visiting this site for a while now and finally decided to join. I have been getting really bad pains in both of my arms during press exercises (I.e. bench and military press mainly) I have visited my doctor and gotten x-rays in the past and he said everything checked out. He didn't think an MRI was needed at the time, but the pain persists and prevents me from going heavy on many chest day exercises. I have taken a couple of weeks off to see if the pain would subside and it did very little. I have also switched form going slightly wider, more narrow and everywhere in between. I have no idea what the problem is. Could it be some kind of connecting tissue issue?

Where in your arm is the pain? Elbow? Bicep? Forearm?

Are you icing the injury several times every day?

If you have tendonitis you often have to let the injury rest for several months unfortunately and do rehab exercises. And not going "heavy" with the weights helps.

Cortisone can mask the pain so you can do rehab. If you don't do the rehab though you will find yourself right back where you were before after it wears off. Actually probably in more pain.

Finally, there is always TB-500 and Deca.

The pain feels like its in my whole upper arm, almost like a crushing pain when coming down with the weight but doesn't bother me once I'm finished or any other time aside from lifting.

The severity seems to vary by the day as well.

So you feel it in both your bicep and tricep? Shoulder feels fine?

Yeah and its in both arms. It feels like its the bones that hurt, but the doctor says they are g2g

I don't know. If it is in the tricep and bicep, I'm not sure. Sorry.

Ice them and rest. You could try the TB-500 or Deca or cortizone. But if you can't isolate the pain it is hard to know what to rehab.

Thanks anyway Megatron

Interesting thought about the shoulders. Any remedies that you know of?

I have also started thinking about the TB-500. What do you suggest for weekly dosage? And I have seen a lot of information about loading. Do you suggest it?

I had the same problem about a year ago and my trainer suggested super flex joint formula. It worked wonders for me in just as little as 1 week. And you can get a bottle of it on vitacost.com for around $12. Hope this helps I know the pain can be over bearing.

How bout a pinched nerve in ur neck? Known for causing tingleing in the arms. But it can radiate down your back into your shoulder blade area. When you press you feel pain. I am going through it right now. Only it is only happening on my right side, left is fine. Going to see a chiropractor on weds.
Anyway, just a thought

Willing to bet you tore the tendents in your arms. It happens, don't life heavy for about 2 weeks, get your form in check.. Keep it light with the weight ..take in tons of protein, vitamins, lean meats ect.
