Should a Mosque Islamic center be built near ground zero ????

A battle that has set off a national debate over freedom of religion, a Muslim center and mosque to be built two blocks from ground zero.

Should freedom of religion be considered in building this Mosque ? Or should the mosque be built somewhere else in order to not offend those that lost loved ones in 911?

Is not building this Mosque going against our "Freedom of religion", haven't we worked and fought for having this right as Americans.

I am a crusader, I believe in god Jesus, but Jesus specified turn the other cheek when you get hit... I wonder can the other cheek be turned in this situation??

If I lost my job tomorrow. I would go start interviewing for positions right away and take the first thing I could get even if it was a job at McDonalds.

I have enough money in savings to survive 1 year at my current expenses. Most people don't bother saving because they know they can just get welfare.

It means making sacrifices and staying within your means. It means even though I can easily afford a bigger house a nicer car etc. I don't get them so I can keep reserves. If there was no welfare people would have to start living this way.

As for the single mother deal I can't really argue with you on that one. I have no idea who my mother or father or any of my family is. Only knew my brother who passed away in Afghanistan fighting for our country. Hence some of my hatred.

I would think though that a single mother should network and find friends willing to watch her kids if necessary and then get out there and get it done by whatever means necessary. I think if you have kids though then that is even more of a reason to have savings.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear what you went through, it must have been really difficult, and your brother was a brave man.

I'm a republican myself, but let me tell you it could be really hard for some people to save, I'm not saying the one's that cash out their welfare check to get drugs or alcohol..
A family of 5 now days with both parents working minimum wage jobs, only make enough to cover living expenses, I mean even if they live in an apartment, own an old used up car, to maintain that family, and put food on the table, they would be left without money left over for savings.

And if one of the parents is out of the picture, how do you think that single parent can do it ?

I own two businesses, and will never allow my family to go through any struggles, My wife doesn't have to work and as long as I can physically provide for them... I'm happy to... I work my ass off, and thank God don't have to report to anyone, (expect Mrs Pinga, She'll kick me in the face, if I get out of line) , but I know some people that struggle to put food on their table, and is not because they are lazy, or just like to be on welfare... That's why I think welfare is needed, & made available for those who really need it, and don't abuse it.

Pinga, i understand what you are saying, and agree that not everyone abuses the system. I was mainly speaking of those who do, but since we're on the subject, I have to side with Hum on this one.

If I lost my job tomorrow, i can count on both hands and feet of places I could get jobs. Would I have to get two @ $8 an hour to even make a decent amount? Yes, but I wouldn't sit on my ass waiting for the perfect job. This is the problem with lazy Americans and why we have a)too many people abusing unemployment and b)and illegal immigrant problem.

You see, if lazy Americans would stop collecting unemployment and get out and take THOSE jobs... we wouldn't have nearly the problems we do. Would it solve it? Of course not. But those people would be out there working at jobs they may not want, but they would be working. Being self-sufficient. There are always gonna be the exceptions, but I'm talking about the majority. I have more respect for the PhD who doesn't mind digging ditches til a better job comes along than the lazy fuck who stays on unemployment just because its now available for 99 weeks. Again, this is one of the biggest problems with America today. I would do ANYTHING to provide for my wife and son... pride goes out the window when you have to put food on the table.

As for the Mosque, I'm not saying its morally right, but again, we start messing with the Constitutional rights of Americans, we fuck ourselves even further. Maybe they should build it down the street. But how far down the street? How far is far enough. I don't think anyone who complains about the mosque would ever be happy unless they decide to not build it at all. Now, can you or I buy the property next door and put and gay strip club there open 24hours? Yep, if its lawful. But then aren't we just sinking to a level which everyone thinks they are doing to slap us in the face?

Again, all this is irrelevant cause its the least important thing we should be worrying about in this country. We have a health care plan which will fine us if we don't buy private insurance if we don't have it through our employer. That means you brother. This is bullshit and not how this country should be run. There isn't a single example of socialized medicine that has worked in the entire world. NO WHERE!! And it won't work here. We need less government, less entitlement programs and less spending.

We don't have to agree, but I wanted to give you my thoughts in rebuttal to your response. Like i said, there will always be exceptions. But that is what an exception is... not the majority.
