Should I continue shopping or give it up?

I have had many symptoms of low T or some time now. I had blood work ran last Friday and the followup appointment this morning. Im 26 and my Total Test is 444ng/dl. My doctor said it was not high enough for him to treat and said that my insurance will likely not pay anything with levels in the "normal" range (which begins at 241ng/dl at this lab). I asked if it were acceptable to get my into the high-normal range even if I paid cash for the meds since insurance wouldn't likely pay and he told me he wasnt comfortable doing so under his name. He told me I may have better luck going through a urologist and recommended one I try. My question is, with this Test level should I even try getting another doc to work with me or do you guys think this is more than likely a lost cause? Should that be the case, I'll begin self-medicating to get to feeling 100%...I'd much rather take a more legal route if at all possible though...

Have you checked your thyroid out good because it can cause low T symptoms too.

Or go to a doc that knows low T well, most don't...a good doc will treat you...maybe an anti-aging doc.

My GP also ran a couple thyroid tests:
T-4 Free: 1.4 (0.8-1.8)
TSH: 1.91 (0.40-4.5)

I went to a low T clinic yesterday to see what they had to say about it and he ran more blood work first thing. This time it read that my Total Test was at 475 ng/dl. That blood was taken at about 2:30pm. The blood was taken at 8:30am when it read 444 ng/dl. I understand fluctuations throughout the day but I don't understand how it would have read HIGHER in the afternoon than first thing in the morning just a few days prior. He said that they have to send the blood offsite to check Free Test and Estradiol so he should have those results tomorrow. We'll see what he has to say. IMT will definitely be who I talk to next depending on what these guys say.

Your TT is not some stagnant number.
You're flying pretty high. I'd kill for 475 in the afternoon, naturally.
