Hey guys, been lurking and researching on here for quite a while, but now I have some questions that require specifically tailored responses.
I have seen plenty of threads with noobs asking about cycles where you guys have not hesitated to tell people that they should simply not use, so I hope I can get some replies with that level of honesty.
My situation:
I am a college athlete (lacrosse) in my senior year. About to turn 22. I have been lifting since about 16, and been able to become more serious and regimented as I have figured out what works best for me over the past few years and with the help of college weight training coaches. I have been able to add about ~5 lbs a year since my senior year of high school, although I have found adding mass particularly difficult. I also travel a lot and go several months a year on only light or no workouts
I am currently
5'8/9"
150 lbs
about 10 or 11% bf
current lifts:
bench 200 (have maxed 225 sophomore year)
squat- 260
hang clean- 190
rdl- not sure, usually rep 155 8-10x
40 yard- 4.6s
I have a relatively small frame, am in good shape but probably under my natural maxes atm.
Now I have never been a starter on my team, but I have seen decent playing time in the past. I don't think using roids will necessarily improve my spot on the team, but I am interested in it so I can have a little more power on my shot, scrapping for ground balls, hitting, explosiveness, and all around fitness.
We completed fall ball and now we are in the weightroom and on our own until we go full time in January. On my current schedule (3 days a week weights/2 cardio, wallball/shooting) I will get fit and get back to my natural maxes by the time practice rolls around. However, it's my senior year and I want to be bigger, stronger, and faster than I ever have been before aside from the marginal improvement I will have made from last year.
After a month of research, I have decided I want to do a cycle (pending advice from the community). I'd like to do one or two short cycles that will improve my size a bit but I am really looking more for overall utility here than pure mass. I will be mostly focusing on improving my powerlifts (esp squat) as that's been my weak area. I don't want incredible gains, just a solid boost beyond what creatine and no explode offer.
proposed cycle:
I have boiled it down to basically two options:
test prop 100 mg eod
mast 50mg eod
20 days (10 ml of each)
clomid 2 weeks
or
d-bol 30 mg/day 3 weeks
clomid 2 weeks
possibly the d-bol cycle,3-4 weeks off, then the test prop/mast cycle? But that is it, I won't be using in the season and have no other plans or use to in the foreseeable future.
I don't really want to run cycles any longer than this unless it is with a more mild roid as the risk of sides just isn't worth it to me.
as far as diet goes, Mine is not perfect, it is decent, but I tend to be a conditionally motivated person, so if I make this investment, my diet will be in line with the program anyway.
So what do you guys think? Will this benefit me as far as my goals are concerned? Let me know if anything needs clarification, I didn't want to make the post too long.
