Should I split shots 200 ever other week.

I started TRT last Tuesday and it's been the best week in years. I jabbed 200ml Tuesday afternoon and a week later I have crashed. I also had a change from Synthroid to Armour Thyroid so that might have also had a small factor in the well being. Guess my question is, should I split my inj weekly and take 100ml or 1/2 cc once a week. I have a great endo who cares more about symptoms than blood reports. My T level was 438 but my FSH was elevated. That's why he started treatment. Age is 42.

Welcome!

Yes you should split your dosage into more frequent injections. Once a week is better than once every two weeks but twice a week is ideal.

200 mgs every two weeks = 100 mgs a week = 50 mgs every 3.5 days (ideal)

An example would be to pinn 50 mgs on Sunday morning and another 50 mgs on Wednesday evening. Pinning like this will have several benefits, first it will help you keep your levels consistent (no dreaded crash) and it will also lesses the amount of Test that is converted to estrogen which will help to keep your E2 lower. Keeping your E2 on the lower end of the scale if beneficial because you might be able to get away with not having to take an AI to combat high estrogen sides.

Best of luck to you!

testosterone cypionate has a half life of 5-6 days. This is why we inject AT LEAST once weekly.
You have no experienced the rollercoaster effect from bi weekly injections.
IDEALLY you should inject 50mgs 2x per week! Not only will this keep you from falling off Day 6 and 7 of the week before your next injection, but it will also lower estrogen levels.
Good luck Bud

Keep an eye out for Megatron, Halfwit and Austinite, they are very experienced and knowledgeable on TRT and have great information to share.

I have learned a lot from these members and my treatment has been a great experience thus far in large part to their guidence.

Thanks again I will do that. It's simply amazing the difference one shot made. I was in a dark place. Feel so much better.

Great advice given already. I just want to add one thing to help manage your expectations.

What you likely experienced in the first week was a placebo effect. Many of us did as well. It is normal. But in reality, it typically takes 3-6 weeks to feel the effects of injecting Test Cyp. The testosterone has to build up in your system. The ester prevents it from all being released immediately. And at the same time, your natural testosterone production is going through the process of being shut down now that you are starting to get it exogenously. That takes a little time. It will take several weeks before your Total Testosterone is above 438.

Just curious, what were your LH and FSH levels? Were you diagnosed with Primary Hypogonadism?

Welcome to the 'Ology forum!

P.S. I am assuming you are one Test Cyp... If not, my answer above might change. :-)

FSH 13.9
LH 6.9
TEST 459 not 438
FREE TEST 10.6 direct
PROLACTIN 14.5

Yes I am on the test cyp. I might of also had a bump in the way I was feeling with the switch from Synthroid to Armour thyroid. I have read the t3/t4 conversion is way better. As for the primary he did say that with the elevated FSH that my testicles weren't working.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah... look like you have primary hypogonadism -- meaning the problem is with your testicles rather than your pituitary.

Many of us were in the 100's or 200's for Total Testosterone when we started TRT, but 459 is below average for your age. I wouldn't want to be in the 400's.

Yes it sort of sucks. It's hard enough to keep the pernicious anemia in check. It would seem that I Am going to be stabbing myself all the time. My only real concern is the chance of PV. I already have elevated Hemoglobin @ 17.7 and hematocrit at 52. Wouldn't mind dumping blood but I need my hematologist to get my ferritin up. I have next to no stores in my marrow and last level was 60. I understand that the testosterone like the B12 stimulates blood cell growth. My platelets are in an very safe range now so with a bump of iron I should have no issues with blood letting.

I was plagued with several hernias and chronic epididymitis. Also had 10 years of real bad meds for another blood issue. So I am sure it has caused all my issues. Looking forward to some sort of normal again. Wether it was a placebo or the change in my thyroid meds. I felt normal and great for a few days. First time if over 12 years. I am fortunate that I found a Dr that treats symptoms and not just a blood report range.

Thanks again for the input.

I would like to say that test cyp. does not take weeks to build up in everyone. I for one tested my testosterone 4 days after my first shot of 200mg. I had 1220 test after only 4 days. Just sharing.
