I had to have a acromion recessions peformed on both shoulders. That means that The Doctor had to enter the shoulder by cutting a two inch cut on it through one of the deltoid muscles to get to the hole and tendon that was partually detached.Caused by the bone spur. Then grind down the bone spur, and then sew up the hole on the middle deltoid Tendon, then reatach it to the bone where it belongs using little screws that will disolve after 9 months or so.After surgery the pain was a bitch,Ive had hernia repair and I would rather have six hernia repairs compaired to this kind of surgery.
This past April I had the other shoulder done. But I found a Doctor that specializes just on hands and Shoulders.Had it done arthroscopic,No where near the pain. And the healing time is faster(on the outside)And the scar is hardly noticeable. My advice is to find a GOOD doctor, and after surgery give it time to heal, and when you do go back to the gym take it slow. Hope this helps some Melbourne
