GIGGITY GIGGITY!
Ok, i go to the gym every wednsday, friday, and sunday. Ive tried the 5x5 workout and decided to do heavier weights at a 4x4. I have only gained 5 solid pounds in the last 2months.

Im 19yrs. 6'4'' and vary from 188-192. I have almost no bodyfat.

WORKOUT
----------
Wendsday - bicep / tricep / abs

Friday - back / shoulders

Sunday - chest / legs / abs

NUTRITION
----------

Im hyperglocemic so i have trouble keeping my blood sugar level from going through the roof. I eat everything solid, no junk food. My metabolism is super fast because of the hyperglocemia and so i can eat a 3 plates at a hometown buffet and then be moderately starving 2 hours later. So I generally eat very large meals every 2-3hours each day. Generally on workout days i eat a footlong subway sub packed full of greens 30minutes prior to workout then I cook a double cheeseburger with all the good stuff on top afterwards. I also take 20g of protien w/ creatine preworkout and then 60grams of protien before i go to sleep postworkout.

So what im wondering is, would there be anything wrong that im doing in general to inhibit my growth? Is there something else I should be taking? And because im hyperglocemic is there anything that can be effecting my recovery/gains? If you know please tell me before i go to my doctor and spend money for him to tell me if he even knows.

Thank you,
Chris

Well if you gain 5 lbs every 2 months, thats 30 lbs a year. Not bad. No it's not like a cell-tech add where the guy gains 30 lbs in 6 weeks, or like a heavy steroid cycle where 30 lbs in 12 weeks may happen, but it's a good solid gain for a natural trainee. If you REALLY have no body-fat, you are likely slowing gains quite a bit. You might have gained more with more eating (likely), but that is still solid progress if you can keep it coming.

Don't focus on weight. Focus on your strength if you're a pl'er, and the mirror if you're a bb'er. 5 lbs of solid muscle is pretty good for 2 months.

Weight gain does not come from caloric expenditure in the gym, it comes in the kitchen.

Half a pound a week is a good rule of thumb for great, natural gains until you get closer to your genetic "limits."

Thank you for the insight. I guess I was a little zealous when thinking about weight gaining. I have another question. When it comes to your natural limit is there an average height to weight ratio or is it dictated purely by genetics?

"Food is the most anabolic thing out there", you need to take in at least 2 grams of protein per body lb, thats a start, you are 192 and you want to be 220, then you must take in protein like a 240 lb guy, eat your way to that next level, 9 times out of 10 its not the program or gear but the protein intake that is the problem...
