single digit test levels... is this even possible?!

first post here but have been reading quiet a bit of posts over the last few weeks. im a 25 yr old male. have had many symptoms of low t for some time and finally decided to get it checked. i did a hormone spit test that came back low. got blood work and that just came back as well. i was surprised to see that my free test is 1.0 and my total is 4....honestly is this even possible?? many of the stories i have heard the guys tests levels were at least in the double/triple digits.

my history is heavy steroid use in high school and early 20's with out proper cycling or pct...i know...dumb. i cant change that i can only learn from it and pass on the dangers of it.

just wanted to know if you guys have even heard of numbers this low before

Just to make sure it wasn't something really strange, can you please include the reference ranges for normal as well?

free test 1.0pg/ml range 46.0-224.0
total test 4ng/dl range 250-1100
bioavailable test 2.2ng/dl range 110.0-575.0

this is a well known local lab that many doctors in my area use on a regular basis so its not like they are garbage or anything

thanks for any replys/help

I can't imagine those results are accurate. I'm not an expert but that seems highly unlikely. You should get retested -- hopefully free of charge.

i thought about that too... if anyone has heard or experienced this or something close id love to hear about. have a follow up with my doc on the 27th to discuss all these results unless she calls me sooner to talk numbers/retests

Wow, I've never seen it that low. But with your past, I can believe it. You better hurry and get on TRT.

yeah im having trouble finding anyone with similar results as well. have been searching online most of the day. i do plan on getting on some test and hoping i can go right into injections off the bat. not interested in expensive and irregular absorbing creams/gels. i am concerned though about infertility as my fiancé and i do want kids down the road (if i haven't already ruined that too). any info on how to prevent that or words to ease my mind on that topic would be appreciated.

Most likely an error. I've seen some "Zapped" numbers in my time, but they were always errors in some shape or form and they do happen from time to time..... I once had an HDL reading of 150+! I asked the doc if I should take up smoking, eating fast food, & lay off the weights for awhile, lol! If I was you, I'd follow everybody's advice and get re-tested and not worry till a pattern emerged. I'm sure your doctors gonna suggest the same.

would it make sense that all three of those numbers were wrong? i could see an error in one maybe even two. the stack of blood work i got involved much more than just test and i see no weird numbers on any other testings.

Now I'm not saying they used this formula or vouching for the accuracy of this calculator, but I think it makes a good point of how a botched sample could throw a lot of stuff off and why you simply need to get retested: issam.ch/freetesto.htm

thanks for the calculator jack. as far as symptoms go i haven't had an urge in having sex for months, lost of strength, increased fat around my midsection even though i eat well and stay as active as possible. kinda just down in the dumps is best way to explain it i guess.

retests are being ordered as we speak. hope all this hurries up. im sick of feeling like this.

Good luck! I seriously doubt those numbers are legit since that's lower than a child's natural levels. If they are, you are THE bonafide winner of the lowest total test contest! I thought my 120ng/dL was low!

5 days of clomid will likely affect your results. Now if you come in with your T too high you just fucked yourself out of legit testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Keep in mind that doctors always retest to confirm a low T result and often run some additional tests. Don't be stupid and start self medicating when you don't know what you are doing.

I would go to privatemdlabs and get my own lab test to see where my levels are at before going back to the doctor. Make sure your t level is low again. Tell him you are going out of town for a couple of weeks and will get retested when you get back.

Spit tests are not known for their accuracy. I didn't think anyone really used those.

Get your baseline figured out before you decide to start self-medicating. Let your doctors help you.

Finished up second round through labcorp. Gave myself about 8 days off from everything. Will keep this updated as I get more info and hopefully start my journey to feeling better
