smith machine squats

thats nice, but it damn sure hurts me and is used to mess up my strength coaches knees and he was nationaly ranked. Dude could squat 930 and was only 26.

bro if you dont wanna squat deep then dont. you dont have to justify it. just squat high if it feels better to you. this stuff aint rocket science. a bunch of studies done on stick men under god knows what conditions dont mean shit in the gym.

but i will say if you an x pler then you know what happens when you high squat at a meet. what feds did you lift in? and when? whos your strength coach? did he compete or hit the 930 in the gym?

no fed this was a college team in the NJCAA(junior college) 2001- 2003. Ill pm you his name if you want because iv referred to his heavey Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) use and he would break me in half if i posted his name. He hit 900 in meet and i personally saw him hit 930 in the gym. He was nationaly ranked in 99 or 00 cant remember. He never did to great because he could only dead 670 and his bench was only 585 in competition(he weighed 315 at 5'11"). He got alot of exposer from a squating accident where his right foot slipped on chaulk with his opening weight of 820 and he did a full split and the weight never left his shoulders, meaning he severly dislocated his hip. He is a washed up has been now and i recently looked up his competition #s and they are in the dirt now, he must be trying to go natural.

pm me that name cause i may know him is why i am asking. thanks.

sorry to hear of his injury, dont remeber that one.

I have been training clients since '91, well this is not from any paper its called experience with trainees, I have had 4'8" women to 6' 5" guys doing "ass in the grass", and guess what noone has any knee problems, even had two that were scoped and going all the way down with no problems and now they are Squating again...
you can add me to that list..i used to squat heavy even in HS i hit 315 for a couple but of course i was a knucklehead then and im sure i was a bit above para..anyway i had knee surgery which basically ended my hockey career i went back to squatting but it would always aggravate my knee..so i gave it up..then a few years ago i learned i was doing it all wrong..going atf im basically pain free with the help of wraps only on my heaviest work sets!!!
