Soda before workout???

MANOWAR

Well I got home from school with a massive headache and needed something cold and loaded with sugar. So I had 2 fantas. Is this okay? I got a good 80 grams of carbs, most of which is simple sugar. Is this a bad thing, or is soda before a workout okay? Thanks

It gives me an energy boost and usually gets my headaches away. Thats why post workout if I'm really exhausted I'll have a banana or two.

Anyway, thanks for replies. I definatley won't make it a habbit.

Funny story. I came home from school and had those 2 sodas with the intention of working out in an hour. I had a massive headache so decided to sleep. 2 hours later... I wake up, and decided to carb up again. Had a shake and some ice cream lol.

School is very stressing, so I kind of give up every now and then and have some sugary stuff.

Anyway, I'm going to the gym soon for back. Will edit log then

are you sure it wasnt a caffiene haedache?

Nah it's just from lack of sleep, and lots of work. School really drains the shit outta me. Also, the mornings are freezing so I wear pants and a few layers, then during the day it gets really hot and I can't really take my pants off so I sit there and burn. This gives me bad headaches.

But now I'm good. Just needed some sleep and porno

diet rockstars i used to drink at school all the time before leg workouts :-)

The thing is I don't want to use energy supps cuz then I will be dependant on them. I used to rely on that TNTea shit and I couldn't workout without having one.

I was just wondering if soda is a good pre workout source of carbs. Thanks for the replys guys

You want natural sugars from fruit and such. Not that shitty high-fructose corn syrup. Your body can do very little with that. Fructose from something like a nice cold refreshing fruit salad will do you good. IMO if it were a sugar issue you're probably more likely to feel light headed or dizzy. Sounds like a caffeine headache to me. Assuming you consume large amounts of it on a regular basis.
