So ive been on 300 mg test cyp for about 25 weeks now.about 6 weeks ago I got bloods done.it said Hemacrit was 50.2

1.is this too high?
2.If I lower my doseage to 200mg for a while will it go down or do I have to donate blood?

1) What are the reference ranges? Some ranges have 51% as a high point others go up to ~54%.

2) no but it won't climb as fast. To effectively lower hematocrit, donating blood is your only option.

range goes up to 52

Than you're not dangerously high but acute blood clotting could still happen with elevated numbers and it's not going to go down on its own, only up. I'd donate blood to the Red Cross, get a requisition for a therapeutic draw (these are paid though), or perform your own draw.

I just checked its actually 51. so I cant just go into red cross say I wanna give blood and that be that?

nope it wont go down until you lower the single shot level to less that 150 mg , sorry but you're causing the bone marrow to produce red blood cells so go with 100 mg twice a week and you will see great improvement in 4 to 6 weeks

If it's 51% I'd be making appointments to donate TOMORROW bc if you're over range they can turn you down from donating. You can either go on the Red Cross website or call them and schedule an appointment to donate. They'll have local listings of donation centers/drives, times, and services offered (whole blood, platelets, double RBC, etc). Yes it's as simple as calling or making an appointment online, showing up, answering questions and then getting it done. Answer no to all questions about hypodermic needle use and steroids etc.

ive been doing 150 twice a week.so going 100 twice a week will lower it?

100mg twice a week is more than 150mg a week so that will not lower it, only slow it's rise. To actually go down you'll need to be taking less than 150mg/wk as SolomonGrundy stated.

Since your levels are so high look into getting double RBC's pulled. Longer time you'll have to wait for another donation but with your levels it might be needed and will likely make you feel a lot better.

Actually I'd hit up the apheresis. They're less picky as they make more from it and it reduces HCT by several percent. I agree with Megatron; work out first (vasodilation aids with blood/cell donation) and you'll be fine to hit it again the next day. ;)

You can donate whole blood a week after apheresis too, then get on a 56 day rotation. As a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) patient, it's pretty much a must - if you want to avoid having to pay to have them take your blood. :)

I appreciate all the advice, but wow this is so confusing,im off tomorrow.do I need to make an apt? and what should I ask to have drawn?just say blood or certain type of blood?

I had to make an appointment but call and find out for your area. Just tell them you want to do ftw blood and when you get there ask about the apheresis machine like Halfwit said or if not available do whole blood or double reds donation.

While blood will work? Here is another stupid question
Will i be able to have sex that day or will blood flow be off?
