Is the object of our workouts to make our muscles sore the next day or so? If they are sore the next day and day after, does that mean that we did a good work out on them? I did some new exercises in my arm routine that made my bi's and tri's sore for the next couple of days. Obviously I had hit parts of the muscle that I normally don't and/or whole muscles that I hadn't been. When they are not sore anymore, does that mean that they are healed and ready to be worked again? Also, if I normally do heavy weight at 8-10 reps and I don't get that sore, should i do a lighter weight at 15 reps or more in order to get them sore. What is it about "fast twitch" and "slow twitch" muscle fibers? Can anyone explain?..........thanks a bunch guys.
