What I'm thinking is sprinting will burn a lot of calories, so you'd have to eat more, BUT, glucose uptake in muscles is super high after sprinting, which should help keep you lean while you're eating so much.
I see only two negatives:
1. that's going to stress the legs a lot. I think many could get used to squatting one day and sprinting 1-2 days a week if they work up to it.
2. Sprinting burns a tremendous amount of calories, so you need to eat more on sprint days.
However, there seem to be more positives:
1. Sprints are muscle building activities that work the legs in a much different way that squats, which is a nice benefit.
2. Glucose uptake in muscle after sprinting is much higher than after lifting. This would be beneficial to keeping you lean and creating an anabolic environment. This is good since your off day carbs will be less likely to be turned into fat.
3. It keeps your cardiorespiratory endurance up while bulking without doing normal cardio that could mess with muscular or strength gains.
