squat, box squat and deads

i can squat more than i can do off a box that is one inch below parallel. I have only been box squating for a month or two though. But i still think that your box squat will not exceed your regular squat, if both are being done properly, but i will let the experts chime in, because i sure as hell am not one of them. :)
 
You should be able to box squat significantly more than you full squat since you don't go nearly as low with a box squat.

How much you can deadlift relative to your squat depends on a lot of factors, but it's likely that you could squat to parallel with more weight than you deadlift.
 
if you squatting correctly and doing box squats correctly your box squats will be significanlty lower. some sumo pullers pull more than they squat. normally the dead lift is slightly behind the squat. NORMALLY. now these are generalities and there are alway exceptions to the rule. iu am not the exception. there are differnt ways to box squatas well. but the way we do them is much tougher than a regular squat.
 
I took "full squat" to mean full ROM. But yes, if you're doing a parallel squat, it should be heavier than a box squat.
 
maybe i am doing them wrong or some thing. my sets are as follows:

squats - 2 x 5 x 320lbs
box squats - 2 x 6 x 375lbs
deadlifts - 2 x 5 x 345lbs

i do squats to paralell and i use a preacher curl seat to sit on when i do box squats at its lowest height
 
If you use a high bench and dont pause on it then you're kinda missing the point of the box squat imo

eg I can full squat (with wraps & belt) 495 x 5 but only boxsquat 425-440 for 5

i sit all the way down..............the seat is about an inch above paralell
 
if your box is below parrallel as it should be for normal box squats your box squat will be less than your normal squat .
 
a lot of folks think they are squatting parrallel and are way high. the best thing to do is film and watch youself then you know, (if you know what a true parrallel squat is) how deep you are. i thought i was deep til i saw it on film. i was shocked. you guys look at some of my squat fortage in the video section, frame 16, and youll see some just below parrrallel squats. 1-2" below.

box squats should be done at least 1 in below if not 2-3". most benches are way to high less you 6'10".

any of you guys that want to send me some digital squat footage i'll be glad to look at it and tell you where you squat is at and if there are some improvements that could be made. i have had several to do this so far and none of them was below parrallel. one guy told me he was 3" below parrallel and he was 3' above parrallel. lololololol its called a disease of perception. thats what a lot of the contestants on american idol suffer from as well as a lot of the guys in the gym.

after looking at the clips again its hard to see because a guy spotted me on one and theother is too dark. i'll post some more footage soon. here's one that is fairly visible.

gonna find out how much im cutting my depth on monday, always thought I went low but you never know... knee wraps throw me a bit too
 
ohhh...... you like dem buns? lololololol wraps will stop ya alittle shorter but you can loosin them up a bit or add more weight. =0)

well...... you dont like mocassins? thats what i compete in beleive it or not. that smy nickname at the gym (among some otherts) "mocassins".

they are cat hide if you can believe that. :eek:

i gotta stretch to grip wide.. lololol i used to squat witha narrower grip but i had a tendency to push up and this played hell on my elbows. now i just lay my hands on the bar out wide. i love the new longer squat bars cause i can stretch out even more
