box squats should be done at least 1 in below if not 2-3". most benches are way to high less you 6'10".

any of you guys that want to send me some digital squat footage i'll be glad to look at it and tell you where you squat is at and if there are some improvements that could be made. i have had several to do this so far and none of them was below parrallel. one guy told me he was 3" below parrallel and he was 3' above parrallel. lololololol its called a disease of perception. thats what a lot of the contestants on american idol suffer from as well as a lot of the guys in the gym.

after looking at the clips again its hard to see because a guy spotted me on one and theother is too dark. i'll post some more footage soon. here's one that is fairly visible.

make sure to film them from the side with a low camera angle.

i am pretty sure i am at parallel...............i stop when my hips are straight inline with my knees. i will take some video though....as fas as box squats....i guess i will have to find something lower than the bench i was using to make it harder for myself.
 
i am a believer in going as deep as you can go. i dont like stoping it short. it robs you of a total leg workout. there is something going on in those last couple of inches that you miss at parrallel.

i got a clip today of some nice deep squats from a board member. hope he dont mind but here's the clip. these are real squats BTW and he is getinghis money's worth.

if you'll notice his hams and calves are bottoming out. this is what defines a deep squat. of course the fat guys like me get stopped a bit shorter but i still hit bottom if possible. this is the first guy to send me a clip that was below parrallel.

our long lost bro in iron needsize has some pretty squats as well. he is well below parrallel.

You should have posted the clip I sent you where I was repping 750 not the warmup :)

that's cool, using that as an example of depth makes me all warm & fuzzy inside lol

If you're serious about training then film yourself and send your clips to Pullinbig the advice he's given me has been invaluable, especially the deadlift feedback

who am i kidding bodybuilding is tougher than powerlifting because you guys have to diet :eek:

I wouldnt say tougher, but dieting sure does suck
I did give powerlifting a go back in the day, as my training partner is ranked number 1 in canada, but my frame just wasnt built for it. Last I talked to my old partner though, he had squatted over 900 in competition

today was back day so i filmed my deadlifts today. i will get some squat vids on friday on leg day.
