Starting Out

Hey, I just started eating mass amounts of protien and all that other food I should be eating, I'm eating at least 150-160 grams of protien a day, and believe me, that's more than enough for someone my size. I'm pumping weights every night, among other things, like crunches, pushups, and some other workouts my girlfriend has me doing. I'm basically overloading my muscles like I'm supposed to. it's only been about 4 days that I've been starting this, and I've gained 3-4 lbs already. Tell me what you think.

P.S. I'm starting out right now with just doing all the proper things, I'm not taking any gear, and never have. If I don't see results with a couple months, then I'll probably start though.

If you don't see results in a couple months that is because your diet/training is wack and using Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) isn't going to solve your problem. Sorry bro.

Steroids are not the answer you should be looking for. What you need to do is:
(1) Get your diet in check. If you are not getting bigger, you are not eating enough
(2) Look at your training. If you are eating enough and training hard, there is no reason you should not be gaining muscle.
Can you post your stats for us. It will give us more info so we can help you. Let us know - age, height, weight, trainging routine, diet.

Unless you weigh about 100lbs. then that is NOT enough protein!

Do not resort to steroids to make up for your shortcomings. Get the diet/training in check WAYY before thinking about using gear. You should get a good few years of serious training before going that route!

Ok, you probably eat people my size for breakfast, but here it is:
I'm 6'1", 150 lbs, pretty skinny guy, but not like a twig boy or anything. I alternate my routine, yesterday I lifted 20lbs each arm 3 sets of 10 sitting down elbow rested on my knee, then did the same set standing up curling up to my shoulder. after lifting wieghts I did 3 sets of 12 crunches. I repeated my wieght routine after I had finished the crunches, then did all the same wieght routine all over again. Today I'll be working out completly new muscle groups, then tomorow going back to that routine.

I am going to post this again:

You weigh 150lbs. You should be taking in ATLEAST 200 grams a day.

Please post your training schedule. It looks like it might be incorrect.

I'm just starting to work out 2 muscle groups a day, I redo the routine twice a day though, for ex. monday, work out biceps, triceps, and do crunches. tuesday- work out legs, back, and do crunches. Wednesday, repeat the same as monday. Thursday, repeat the same as tuesday. And so on and so forth. My girlfriend is a personal trainer, she's monitoring me every step of the way, and after recalculating my protien, I'm taking in closer to 185 grams of protien a day. I'll try to jam in some more if you think I need it.

I think you do need to eat more.
Also the program that you laid out pretty much sucks-sorry!
If I were you i would start with a 4 day split, where you incoporate the push/pull theory.
Mon(Push day) Chest/Shoulders/Triceps
Tue(Pull Day) Back/Legs/Biceps
Wed. Rest
Thurs- Push day
Fri- Pull day
Sat-rest
Sun-rest

Do this for a couple months and see how it works for you. You should see some improvements. When you get more advanced then you can switch working out each baodypart once a week.
Ex:
M-Back/Traps
T-off
W- Chest/Biceps
Th-Legs
F-off
Sa-Shoulders/Triceps
Su-off

Or something along those lines.

At this point, you are in for a pretty good time....

Knock your self out eating Big Mac's, chocalate shakes, pizza, chinese food buffets, all the meat and carbs you can fit.

Strech your eating abilities beyond your wildest imaginations.

It seems that you are really lean so getting fat wont be a problem (yet)

Read the thread on the Conversation forum called "What was the food intake today" and look at Billy Bathgates "Eating Program" down the thread.

Aim for 35% of that and you will put on lbs every week.

Also for training, why not try all the programs eventually. But an easy one to do is the "mon-fri one body part per day, sat and sun off". No thinking involved.

You have come to the right place and I guarantee you will be teaching your gf things in no time
Good Luck

i think that you should give yourself more time to grow too. i dont think that a couple of months with that diet and work out routine will do it. just my .02

Thanks guys, it's all really helpful. I appreciate all your advice and I'll try too incorporate it into my weeks.
