i'm having problem keeping my weight when i'm at construction site all day long.(7am-5:30pm) I drink plenty of water and salty peanuts ,and big feast for lunch but still having trouble gaining weight. Is there any way to beat that big red thing up above?

How often can you get a few minutes to eat while working? About how many calories is your maintenance level?

water and peanuts? thats not going to help you too much with gaining weight.

if youre working construction, youre burning a ridiculous amount of calories, which means the amount of calories youre gonna need to eat is going to be UP THERE. Your job is basically one long cardio session lol.

I dont have any clue your maintenence calories should be, or how busy you are during the work day, but im going to assume you dont have that much time to eat, so im going to suggest something like this:
1. A big breakfast (protein + carbs + fruit)
2. Weight gainer shake or protein powder with oatmeal/wheat germ
3. 2-3 roast beef sandwhiches on whole wheat with a bunch of lettuce, tomato, whatever
4. A few McDonalds hamdburgers with lettuce and tomato with a salad (no fries)
5. Protein powder + olive oil shake
6. Protein+Fat dinner with veggies

The sandwhiches and/or shakes should be fairly easy to eat/drink while you got a few free minutes at work, and im assuming you get a lunch break, so you can head to mcdonalds for that. These are just some ideas. You can also make/buy a soup with a lot of veggies in it, add a lot of ground beef to it, put it in a thermos, and you got a big filling meal you can pretty much drink.

Bring a one gallon thermos of cold whole milk with you and finish it throughout the day, along with everything else you are eating. This should help you maintain some size while you are working hard.

thanks for your suggestions, I guess this is going to be one helluva summer. and a bitchin' one!

cheers!

i was gonna mention olive oil in your shakes but your allready doing it. when i want to gain some serious weight i make a beefer shake.

8-12 oz whole milk
4-5 scoops protein powder
2 tblsp all natty pb
2 scoops low fat ice cream
1 banana
2 tblsp olive oil
and you can add some malted milk if you want. i put this in a thermos and drink through out the day.

i'm without a doubt driven consuming this shake.,
but i really cant imagine lugging a thermos on duty.

then witch to water, no biggie... and keep it in a cooled lunch box type deal. i just sip when i get a chance...
