Strange blood test results...low total test, high free test, Clomid not working.

I am having some very weird blood test results. I've been on clomid 25mg EOD and Arimidex 1mg, both 3x week as prescribed by my urologist. The first set below, from 2/25, is the baseline. The second set of results is from after 6 weeks of Clomid therapy. I'm a little confused by the blood test results, which seem to not line up with anyone elses.

(FYI, 36yo male, 5'3, 183lbs, 23% bf, no AAS ever, history of crohns disease and major surgery.)

2/25/2013 estradiol, serum 27 pg/mL
4/5/2013 estradiol, serum 31 pg/mL

2/25/2013 follicle stimulating hormone, serum 3.1 m[iU]/mL
4/5/2013 follicle stimulating hormone, serum 4.1 m[iU]/mL

2/25/2013 luteinizing hormone, serum 3.9 m[iU]/mL
4/5/2013 luteinizing hormone, serum 6.8 m[iU]/mL

2/25/2013 prolactin, serum 8 ng/mL

2/25/2013 sex hormone binding globulin, serum 19.3 ug/dL
4/5/2013 sex hormone binding globulin, serum 15.2 ug/dL

2/25/2013 testosterone, serum, free 75.6 pg/mL
4/5/2013 testosterone, serum, free 84.6 pg/mL

2/25/2013 testosterone, total 292 ng/dL
4/5/2013 testosterone, total 297 ng/dL

The overall test is low, but the free test is high. I can't find anyone on any board describing this sort of results (except one guy, and the general consensus was that it was measurement error). And if I have primary hypogonadism, the LH should have gone through the roof on Clomid. But it didn't. And if I have secondary hypogonadism, shouldn't my total test have gone up on Clomid? I am utterly confused here and need help.

Obviously, injectable test would fix the problem, but I'm trying to have a kid so it's not gonna happen for the next year or two. I'm thinking about asking for the clomid/arimidex to be bumped up in dose but I don't really know what else to do at this point. For the first couple of weeks, I felt great on the clomid and my libido was up, but I could swear much of the effect has worn off now, and I wonder if it was just a placebo effect.

What should I be asking about? What should I consider?:scratchhe

The anastrozole is increasing your free T. The clomid is trying to stimulate FSH and LH but that is not resulting in much T. The increase in those two would usually be more significant.

Seems like the clomid may be a waste of your time. Could do HCG stimulation test :)

I know a guy who had a similar situation as you. Low T and was trying to get his wife pregnant. He tried just clomid first but that didn't work well. It increased his T some, but he still felt lousy. He switched to just taking Anastrozole every day. That increased his T as well and he felt better than when he was on Clomid. He did end up getting her pregnant and was able to switch over to Test injections which has him feeling the best.
