T3 vs Armor Thyroid

So come to find out Armor Thyroid only has 10mcg of T3 in it per grain. I am hypothyroid so I now am going to be taking 50mcg of t3 3x a day spread out (about a 4 hour half life of t3 I think). I no longer recommend armor thyroid. I am hypothyroid though.

What would you recommend? I have a pretty high TSH level. Last bloodwork has it at 8.370.

T4 converts to T3 so why would the low T3 be a problem? I actually think armour has a higher ratio of t3/t4 than humans naturally have since its mad from porcine. Correct me if Im wrong.

I am someone who has had high Rt3 so I have concidered taking t3 only

Low T3 can be a problem because some people don't convert enough T4 to T3.

I just did the Maximus blood test so I'm not sure. I guess I need to do a thorough thyroid blood panel.

CJ, that is way too much T3 for you brother. 150mcg a day if I am reading that right is dangerously high especially if it is name brand Cytomel.

Start off lower. You could start 25mcg and raise up by 12.5 mcg and raise every 3-5 days as long as you are not having symptoms of too much T3. You could wind up anywhere between 75mcg-100mcg and feel good. I myself have a high RT3 count and I am on a T3 only protocol to clear it out. Have you tested your RT3 CJ??? I am what few doctors will recognize as a Tissue Resistant Thyroid patient.

I just started 25mcg of Cytomel today. I have been on Synthroid for 2 months and I did not like the way it made me feel although it did bring my numbers back into the "normal" range. From everything I have read many people get much better results with the active T3.
