Test dosage/week 500mg vs 1000mg

I'm on my first cycle of 500mg/week and plan on staying like this throughout the rest of the cycle.

But what is everyones experience in the difference between 500vs 1000mg per week, I've heard from several bodybuilders at my gym that they difference is HUUUUGE, BUT the side effects are not really amplified until you get over 1gm per week...

I know this is highly individual, but I'm just curious as to people experience. It just seems safer to me to jack up the test dose instead of adding different anabolics to the mix..am I right? Wrong?

So maybe a better way to phrase it is....what are your results/side effects/overall thoughts of test at 500mg/750mg/1000mg per week.

You ve gotten little response as your cycle experience is nil...which is fine.. as everyone started one day. Ive never done 1000 a week and don t thnk unless your turning competitive or are very experienced..you should.
500 a week is perfect for a first time...and at this time that is all you need to think about.
A lot of people, including me when I was younger, think higher doses mean s less effort, less adherence to diet and less time recquired to get massive. It takes time, effort, food , food , food and rest..

Thanks for the response, and I definitely am not in the mindset of more=better

Mainly I am curious of what is better to do, add a different anabolic compound, OR up the test dose for future reference

Just my opinion...

In cycle progression terms, that really is the key question. I used to be of the opinion that all other AAS are merely neutered offspring of T. While this is partially true, that mentality led me down the path to truly unnecessarily high doses. I'm talking about 1500mg/T/wk+. It took me years to figure out that the returns had actually begun to diminish around 5-600mg/wk. Everyone responds differently, has different goals, genetics, discipline etc. I guess my point would be thusly: Increase dosages (to include those of compounds other than T) gradually, and be honest with yourself when you reach that inevitable tipping point of diminishing returns. When you hit that point, you've come full circle. It's back to training, diet, rest etc.
