Test results for thyroid

I apoligize for not having the results here in front of me to give figures on, but my test numbers seemed to be right in the normal range except for the HGH(?) number was low. It was still in the normal range, but at the very bottom. Doc said not to worry about that, everything is normal, but is it?? Am I overreacting to this, and are their any symptoms to a low HGH number?? Just wondering.

You need to post the exact test run and the result for me to comment. Today, the most popular tests run to check HGH function is IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 (binding proteins). The typical athlete has LOW free IGF-1 levels and elevated IGFBP-3 levels. Bound IGF-1 means more active IGF-1. Free/unbound IGF-1 has a very short halflife and is useless IGF-1. Low IGF-1 levels and low IGFBP-3 levels typically mean either low HGH or HGH resistance. Unfortunately, IGFBP-3 levels are genetically determined. This is why Long R3 is so important. Long R3 acts like bound IGF-1 and stays active longer REGARDLESS OF YOUR GENETICALLY DETERMINED IGFBP-3 LEVELS.
