Testosterone for depression

he's not looking to run a cycle, he said his doctor gave him high test in order to help his depression which honestly is the dumbest thing i've ever heard and i dont know what the fuck kind of doctor would even think of that. being on HIGH TEST all the time is not only unhealthy, but its probably the worst way to directly attack depression.

TRT is beneficial in treating depression if the patient has low levels. There's been a certain amount of research that supports this.

From memory, it was used as a treatment before the development of more modern antidepressants, and it is effective against treatment resistant depression.

That said, I'd agree that therapy is the best solution.

It's because of dopamine re-uptake. If hypogonadal, yes - TRT is a life saver.

I did a bit of reading later, and T3 is actually a more effective alternative treatment for depression. I don't know if it only works in those with hypothyroidism though.

I don't have any experience with TRT or T3 treatments. I've been on SSRIs, and not too keen on them. But treatment for depression tends to involve a degree of experimentation.
