The Truth about Glutamine!?

a friend says glutamine helps KEEP GAINS when you stop training.

a coach (who sells glutamine) says glutamine helps build muscle.

a Med-school student who happens to be a friend says when taken ALONE, doesnt do anything.

a Dr. says that glutamine supplement does absolutely nothing.

so, WHAT THE HELL DOES GLUTAMINE DO? and whats the right way to take it? and WITH WHAT?
 
supposedly good for immune system support, but not for BBing purposes. Said to help with GH release during sleep, but probably to an insignificant degree. Its not necesary for BBing purposes.
 
Glutamine works in strengthening the immune system and preventing the body from becoming overly catabolic, preventing muscle tears and post-workout soreness. I can see a difference at 40-50 gms a day, but you get enough in your whey protein shakes that I don't consider it a cost effective supplement.

the glutamine is 60 % of the squlettic muscle.

No glutamine=no muscle .

the protein intake preserve the glutamine pool.

Amino acid libe bcca's preserve the glutamine to not be destroy.

for guys on diet glutamine 10 gr after and before sleep help.
