Timeline for TRT - how long before you saw results

Hi

I'm looking to find out how long it takes for TRT to start 'working'.

So how many days was it before you noticed:
  • Improved mood:
  • Improved energy:
  • Improved sleep:
  • Improved mental focus:
  • Improved sex drive/libido:
  • Improved erectile strength:
  • Other:

What was your dosage pd or pw and what form (gels, creams, injections etc.)?

Also why does it take as long as it takes? If creams get your levels stable within three days, what is it that takes time to adjust?

Thanks in advance

Yarm

Are you on injections to creams or gels? Or a other form?

Have you read the Basic TRT Overview Sticky thread? That walks you through some of this.

i really started seeing results after 6 months.. been on for a year and a half and its only improved since..

libido will be based on your hormone balance and can go out of wack for a number of reasons

Androforte cream, 2g per day.

Yes I have read that overview. Very informative thanks.

Started in June and don't feel all that different. Libido is better. Quality of sleep still stinks - wake up constantly for no reason. Little stronger in the gym. Nothing much to speak of.

If you google search, most studies indicate 6-12+ months to feel the full affects.

100mg T cyp/week for 4 weeks now (going for increase in a couple weeks)

Improved mood: 2 days
Improved energy: none
Improved sleep: none
Improved mental focus: same day 1st shot
Improved sex drive/libido: little/none
Improved erectile strength: 2 weeks
Other: das it

so far my mental clarity has greatly improved, mood is good day of and day after shot, then back in the shits. other than that little to no side effects, haven't experienced any weight loss or any physical sides. I am on too low of a dose I think at the moment so take that for what it's worth.

Injections, going on six years now (I think?) E3.5D.

  • Improved mood: I was so ecstatic to FINALLY be taking care of the problem that had been plaguing me for a decade, I was as giddy as a schoolgirl immediately after I left the office. The actual mood enhancement came probably around month two as my hormones really started to balance out.
  • Improved energy: Probably around 2-3 months for a real noticeable pep in my step. Getting out of bed before 10am was once again a possibility though within three weeks or so.
  • Improved sleep: I actually found out that I had pretty crazy sleep apnea too, so it wasn't until I picked up a Darth Vader mask that I really saw great changes in sleep. I want to say this was a couple years in, but I was once again having GOOD dreams within a month or two.
  • Improved mental focus: Easily within 6 weeks. I was under a horrible brain fog, and was always unable to "spit ideas out", or recall something.
  • Improved sex drive/libido: Within a month morning wood came back and I couldn't keep my hands off the wife. She was VERY surprised with how quickly I went from ignoring her as a sexual being, to being my prey.
  • Improved erectile strength: Strength? I can't say anything but cialis really changed that. TRT definitely made me WAY more sensitive to stimulation, and orgasms had a fire alarm attached to them.
  • Other: I became extremely obese over the time frame that I had very low testosterone and was on drugs for every type of anxiety or social issue possible. Within three months to a year, I started seeing the weight come off (I had been active in the gym for over a year trying desperately to shed the body fat), and dropped all the meds except diabetes drugs. It had gone too long to rescue my poor pancreas.

I think that's about as accurate as I can remember. It all sort of blurs together now as so many facets of my life changed that I had not realized went AWOL over the years. For instance, watching any movie made since 2000 till 2009-10 is COMPLETELY different to me. It's like watching an entirely new movie as I respond differently, and I most certainly notice the female cast at an entirely new level.

Have you had a sleep study done? I was feeling better by leaps and bounds on TRT, but it wasn't until I was put on a CPAP that I truly felt rested in the morning.

My .02c :)
