Timing on Pre-workout meal?

I have read in several places that your pre workout meal should be taken 1 1/2- 2 hours prior to training for proper digestion. Does anyone know the truth behind this? Would 1 hour work the same or would I still have food thats undigested while I workout. And we'll just use a chicken and brown rice for a meal example.

do what feels right to you, I would eat something probably about an hour before, just make sure you wait one enough so that if you work hard you're not gonna puke up all your food. I know some people will work till they puke, but that shouldn't happen on a routine basis.

just make sure its settled. it takes a lot longer than 2 hours to properly digest food and put it to use if thats what you're asking.

^Agreed

Meal timing is irrelevant, if you feel better with something to eat before you workout (eat) if you train better without then don't everyone is different in that perspective. All that matters is total intake throughout the day/week/month to meet your goals.

I do agree with yall. I was always told to wait 2 hours but honestly after not eating for that long I'm hungry and feel like I'm training on an empty stomach. Thanks for the clarification.

Depends on how you feel IMO
I eat my pre workout, go to the gym and do 15-30mins very light cardio untill i feel ready to break the weights.
It works for me, pre workout meal makes a HUGE difference to me.

Reps for a good post, rep me back ;) no homo
