i do strength training.

i just got back from a 3 month break from weight lifting. today was my first serious workout, and i felt terrible. ive heard of alot of you guys talk about passing out but i never had any problems like that, today i did. after every set i had to take a nice long breather or else i would get up and feel like i was going to fall over.

also i had alot less stamina. i could do almost as much weight for the first set, but on the last 2 sets i had to move the weight down.

i know how the stamina thing could be normal, but is it normal for me to all of a sudden feel like passing out after every set?

thanks.

are your workouts and sets just as intense as before your 3 month break? if so then you might have some issues.. your body is not used to the work its being put thru. nevetheless, you will get back to where you were fairly quickly :) so no worries bro

Dude even 6 weeks ate away my body, STILL on gear too. What does that tell you about my genetics. For awhile I kept eating but by week 3 I was getting fatter and the muscle was really starting to go, took about 1 week to be noticably changing but longer than that rest assured I will be weaker and it will be a visible difference.

3 months to me is like not having trained at all, I come back and do 20% of a routine and no more, so instead of 10 sets I would do 2, maybe 3 tops. If I do 3 they have to be light. If I do more I'll be sore for more than a week.

Do you smoke cigarettes and are in good overall health?

muscle memory, it comes back alot quicker then it took for you to originally earn it. Also dont be discouraged coming back, Iv had weeks where I get sick and when I come back to the gym I feel like I havent lifted in 2 months. And this is with gear.

Why the fuck take 3 MONTHS off? Shit dude thats toooooo long. 1veek tops for me or ill kill myself :)

Sounds like you came back into the gym thinking you could pick up where you left off.

It'll take a few weeks for you to get back into the swing of it. Cut yourself a little slack....

Muscle memory is great but it took me about 3 months to get back my 6 week layoff, and rest assured I didn't quit without a reason.

yea, i had a reason to take the 3 month break.

i think muscle memory is already starting to happen. i was doing a 5 x 5 yesterday, my first bench day, and for the first 4 sets i was doing ridiculously low weight(felt heavy) but then on the 5th i added 20 pounds and put that up 5 reps. im going to try to add 20 pounds next time i bench too.

Do you smoke cigarettes and are in good overall health?
no i dont smoke, and yes im in fine health. yesterday i didnt feel like passing out after any of my sets, so i guess that was just for 1 day and now its gone. thanks for all the replies.

jackcity10, Along with what everyone else said, you will come back even stronger in a while, since the take off was a bit long, it will do your body good in reguards to joint repair and old injuries depending on how many years you have been at this.

Keep your diet high in protein and keep the intensity high, and you will be shocked how fast you are back to tempo...

well you're supposed to take a week off after 8-16 week of consistant training. i hear you though, i would never take a break longer than 2-3 weeks!

Probably a combination of jumping back into intense workouts suddenly and being just one of those days. A week or moderate workouts to get back into it and you'll be fine..

Even on juice it took me about 3 months to get my 6 week break off, that is how fast my body dumped LBM. It was not an intentional experience in the least.

I've never had juice or anything like that. And, I can tell you sometimes for vacations, or shit weeks (girlfriends causing unneeded drama), emergencies, etc. OR JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS :( I just take time off to myself, or maybe I'll go train but do all the stuff I wouldn't normally do just to stimulate myself.

But it sucks, sometimes man...you just have those days/weeks/months. I know I've had em, they are a part of life from what Im told.

Sometimes you have to take time off, no matter what anyone says...my happiness, and my life come before a lot of things....sometimes training is one of them.

I know the feeling.

Last month I ended up in a hospital for 10 days (alergy trouble :( ), and it fucked up my body.. 10 days of being bored in hospital, and doing apsolutely NOTHING, but sitting and sleeping while fucking doctors tried to figure out what was wrong and what was I alergic to (they still dont know btw).

Forgot to mention - they held me on that fucking hospital food.. a friend smuggled some proteins, but nurse found them and took them away.. aaah, I was going crazy

result - I lost around 5 kg (thats 10 pound I think), and when I finally came to the gym I was dizzy all the time, faints and that..
I lost much of my strenght, and I lost the wish to train..

Lucky thing is - it passes..

Now I recovered, I'm in better shape than ever (which is good since its summertime :) )

I'm all natural btw, no juice for me - not now not ever.
