Torn Peck!!!

Posted in the training section but thought I may get a better response here. Tore a peck last night benching heavy. Felt like an electric shock and the upper and lower peck both felt like they were gonna jump out of my skin. I could feel it stretch and get warm instantly. I had ice on in instantly and 2 hours after. Today its so swollen that I cant tell the extent of the tear. It appears to be still attached but its so swollen its hard to tell specifically where the tear is. Anyone had a peck tear? How long did it take for swelling to subside? Would it help to up my HGH intake? I can tell you this.....that sucker hurts like a SOB!
 
I've never personally experienced a macro tear, where it needs to be reattached. But a few guys i train with have told me you will know, they say you will actually hear it "snap". So with that and how you described it hopefully its just a micro tear. I did this a few months ago after coming back from a shoulder injury, and i personally just iced it and did no pressing movements for just under a month. Surprisngly my lifts were actually up when i came back haha, it was hard to take it easy but definitely worth it do avoid surgery.
 
Im pretty certain its a micro tear. I didn't hear it snap and ive seen several snap when I was on the powerlifting circuit back in the day. Its just hard to get a good look cuz its so damn swollen. Ill take the month of no pressing over reattachment surgery any day! Feel like this entire cycle is a waste now.
 
Yeah it sucks taking it easy, but i wouldn't say it's a total waste. While waiting for mine to heal after a few days of rest i was easily able to still do most isolation work for upper body. I just found i had to avoid movements such as chins and such that stretched it. Also Ibuprofen may help with the swelling in addition to icing it.
 
Thanks. Im not gonna start post cycle therapy (pct) and go off just yet. Im gonna see how this plays out. If I can get isolated moves then ill wait it out. And youre right it hurts to stretch it at all so its gonna be a while. The swelling has gone down a lil today and you can see what looks like one strand of muscle from my armpit to the center of my chest raised. Almost looks a rope under the skin. But it is still attached! So that is good news. Gonna try bumping the hgh a lil for the next month. Worse case it costs more money.

happen to me 6 weeks ago, benching and felt like a spasm across the chest to the armpit, took over a month to go heavy again
 
my worst nightmare. mind posting a pic? ive seen a couple in person and theyre usually black and blue and swollen like a damn pillow.
 
Ive seen several snap completely too. Doesn't look like that. Very little bruising its just hella swollen with bulging. Lemme see if I can figure out how to get a pic on here.

It's definitely a nice tear man. I would get an mri done to see the extent of it. My buddy's snapped and he had to reatach it. It also turned all kinds of colors but he is fine now......Good luck!
