Training for Lacrosse

I'm new to this forum, and i wouldnt mind building muscle for next years Lacrosse season. im 17 now and ready to start working out. Any steriod that could help build muscles faster, and at the same time increase stamina, without any bad side effects? keep in mind that i'm not trying to become a pro weightlifter or anything but just a built average guy able to knock the biggest guy on his ass. later, also i have 4-5 months to bodybuild.

i play lacrosse too. if your training for next season, you have plenty of time to learn how to lift and then get big. you dont have to be huge for lacrosse anyways. but you have plenty of time to get big. do you play defense or what?

dude you are 17, you don't need any gear. just eat heaps of quality protein and carbs and hit the weights real hard

ya i play offence in box lacrosse, and was player of the year last year, but i found i was always getting pushed over and falling down. so just eat tonnes of proteins and carbs? k sound doable. what weight training cycled do you guys usually do? i might be leaning toward isolating one musle a day and working the shit out of it or until i fail. good idea?

since you are traing for a sport and not bodybuilding I would probably not train one muscle a day but rather use a 2 or 3 day split that covered every muscle, so you get plenty of days out of the gym to keep up your cardio and give you time to train for lacrosse too
have you done much resistance training before?

ya all ive been doing is start off at most weight that i can lift, right to failure then taking off 5-10 pounds, and i usually do 3-4 sets of 7 reps or failure before moving to the next machine. im doing one muscle a day to allow muscle to have rest. is what your saying to do a combonation of muscles on the same night? dont you think that would be kind of hard on all the muscles? anyways , id still like your feedback.

thanks guys
