Hello

end of this year i will turn 23.
I checked my test level and its 389 ng/dl. I need pretty much sleep (8-9h), i have very little sex drive and building muscle is pretty hard for me.
I started training with 15 and a few months ago i pressed 220 lb for the first time 5 reps not 1 rep max.

I am not sure if a TRT or cycle would help me. The doctor said everything is normal. Any advice?

A cycle won't help you.

What time did you have the blood drawn for your test? Did you also get LH/FSH checked as well as estradiol?

Like Halfwit said, time of day makes a big difference. And keep in mind that your Total Testosterone has not peaked yet as you are still young. see the following chart.

Ok, besied everything in my development was a bit later than the average guys (height, beard, etc.)
TRT is off the table for atleast a few year.
And what about a cycle? I thought it would be usefull in 2 ways.

Seeing how i feel with a higher test level and making some gains ;). I would try with the lowest dose thats usefull.
Test was at 11am

Any input/ explanation would be nice. Doctor just said everything is fine.

Where did you find that chart from source? Does it have an article with it...
I always like to see average testosterone levels through age and what a healthy testosterone level actually is

11am is too late in the day. Your TT drops after you wake up. You need to get tested first thing in the morning after a good nights sleep. And make sure your diet is good. Lifestyle improvements can make a big difference.

Read the link to the FAQs thread shown below in my signature like. Read the whole thing and all the links. It will provide you with more info on why it is bad to cycle at too early of an age when your brain is still developing.

Here is the source for where I found the chart. I think in there is references the name of the medical study it came from. I can never remember the name of it.

Okay, you're confusing TRT with an AAS cycle. TRT is a medical treatment for a serious condition, and is used to bring men back to NORMAL levels of testosterone. It's not used to get yoked or to get stronger.

If it's needed, it's a life-saver.

You appear to be looking for something different. I'm not going to speculate, but I've seen a few younger guys hoping to "beat the system", and get prescribed TRT - hoping to stockpile pharmacy testosterone in order to run cycles. Not only is this not cost effective, but only a half-retarded doctor would allow this to occur, as blood work will clue them into such trickery being afoot.

If you're sincere in trying to fix things, you need to focus on finding out what is going on with your body and solving that first. If you want to cycle YEARS down the road, that's a personal choice to make AFTER you're done with puberty (25), and have taken care if this first.

If you chose to cycle now, you infinitely complicate matters as exogenous testosterone shuts your pituitary gland off, bringing up a red flag for doctors to home in on - possibly overlooking other potential issues.

I would bring up your estradiol being so low though. You may have an issue with SHBG or possibly something else in your HPTA as estradiol is part of the feedback loop - and I'd expect to see a bit more with that testosterone. Unfortunately they didn't pull LH, which would give some more insight.

sounds like OP here has normal T levels since he did the test at 11... for example I'm 28 yrs old, have tested low 200's first thing upon waking, by 10am I'm at 160, by 11 who knows? If you're at 389 at 11am, you likely have a decent test level and IMO you don't need AAS at this point.

For example, when I was at my low T levels, completely naturally I was pressing 225 for 5 sets of 10 or so regularly. If my low T ass could do that, you have a lot more you can achieve naturally (assuming your stats are similar)... your T level is not the problem at this point, you likely could use some nutritional guidance and need to train more efficiently or just harder/longer.
