TRT with or without HCG? Benefits of with vs without?

I was given the option to run HCG with my TRT. I have not opted for it yet and it has been 9 months. What would be the benefits of adding HCG to my TRT regimen? Not sure if this info helps but my total test prior to TRT was between 370-410 with free test being 8.8 on the 410 day, not sure of the 370 day. Both blood work prior to TRT were done around 10am.

40.

Just to be clear I have been on TRT for 9 months without HCG.

You have other glands within your endocrine system that require leutinizing hormone to operate properly. As exogenous testosterone (TRT) turns this off at the pituitary, these glands (adrenals, thyroid, etc) aren't able to work as intended. As a result, pregnenolone and other hormones start to falter. HCG mimics LH even while the pituitary is suppressed, allowing production of these hormones to continue.

I totally recommend it at least as a test to see if you feel a noticeable difference. Of course, this also keeps you fertile, and prevents atrophy of the testes; which many men take it for on top of the other benefits.

Be advised though, some are a little sensitive to the effects, so if you notice estradiol side effects - HCG doses may need to be reduced, or eliminated altogether if the sides outweigh the benefits.

My .02c :)

And it greatly improves sex. Having shrunken testicles and shooting tiny loads does not make sex as enjoyable.

Just my experience...

Been on trt almost 3 years. 47 years old. Never been on hcg. Testicles haven't shrunk noticeably, and I don't shoot tiny loads. Sex is very enjoyable.

But since I'm not an expert, my experience may be the exception, not the rule.

I didn't want to go on hcg, for the simple reason that there's no studies showing the long-term effects of hcg used in this way.

Not exactly what folks are looking for, but is 10 years long enough for you?

Ok. I don't doubt that hcg does what it's meant to do. What I meant, was there were no long term studies showing the effects(or side effects if you prefer) of hcg, when used in trt.

In other words, the lack of long term studies about the safety of hcg, kept me from considering it.

Look at the title of the study. It says Hypogonadotrophic Hypogonadism.
