Type-1 diabetic attempting first cycle...Yay or Nay?

bilabas

Semi-aesthetic diabetic
Before I start, I'd like to say thanks to DocJ for sharing a lot of valuable information in the 'massive newbie' thread.

First something about myself. I'm a 21-year old diabetic (since the age of ten) who has been lifting on-and-off since the age of seventeen. Since I discovered how eat and lift 'properly', I started making gains. Unfortunately I feel those gains are inhibited by a number of factors (hence the reason I'm considering a "bicycle run").

A little background information/stats:

  • Height: 6ft
  • Weight: 196lbs
  • Bodyfat: 20-26%
  • Somatotype: Endomorph
  • Bulking at 3200-3500 kcal

    Conclusion: Skinny-fat endo

To do or not to do:

Keep in mind that I already have a hormonial imbalance (cause by diabetes) which has lead to 'gyno' and acne on the arms.

Someone also recommended me once to do a trenbolone+winstrol cycle, because of its ability to 'complete' transform/recomp one's body.

Also, I'd like to hear your opinion on 'clen'. I heard it works wonders i.e. stimulates muscle hypertrophy during a period of a macronutrient deficit.

Many thanks in advance!

First off, you are attempting to add hormones to a very already complicated and hard to control thing, namely, your diabetes.

Second, there is so much you can do with your training, while you are taking insulin that can help add muscle.

This is probably the most important advice, because chances are you are going to do something:

Start with testosterone only, Every hormone effects insulin, and once you start using a coctail, it will be impossible to figure out what is doing what.

I don't know if you are on an insulin pump, or injecting 5 times a day, but this would be helpful information? Also, what other meds are you on? and do you have any issues with gout?

Absolutely do not take clen... your blood sugar is gonna be low all the time. It will be to hard to eat right and keep a stable blood sugar level with such a thing in your body. I would be cautious of thermogenics in general, as well as aas.

There have been some BB's who hold cards that are diabetic. It is so hard to card yet alone with diabetes, idk what to say here, but the point is it can be done.

You know better than anyone how your body reacts to different foods. Once your on AAS you will have to relearn what you once knew as your muscle will increase and so will your metabolism.

As Giant said, make sure you start with test only.... anyone who wants to throw you on a stack is wrong.

21 is too young to cycle and I would rethink this before you go balls deep. Once you start you will have to deal with certain changes.... GL learn as much as you can about this stuff before you go altering your chemistry.

I think you should discuss with a good doctor. He can only give you full knowledge about what can actually happen when you will start to use steroids

Thank you for the elaborate response.

The past few months, I've been trying to inject my insulin more strategically i.e. PWO, but I've noticed that since I'm an endo and diabetic, I'm very very susceptible to the increase of adipose tissue.

Many times people told me to start a first cycle with only test. Is test effective?

I don't have a pump and fortunately I don't have any issues with gout (not that I know of).

Lulls, most doctors here don't know jack shiet about steroids. The most likely advice I would get is to simply disregard them.

Thanks again for the effort.

Some endocrinologist can help. He can describe the effects of hormones on various systems

First off, the whole endo/ecto classification is complete bullshit, it was invented in the 1920's It does not predict how your body will perform.

Is test effective? yes. It is the main driver for almost any anabolic steroid use.

The danger is much more real for complications if you start testosterone, and the risk of having an unsuccessful restart is higher. The solution? wait until you are 30, it will honestly take you the next 9 years of improving your diet, investing in training with a coach, and getting your life skills to the point of handling the downsides of using multiple drugs at the same time.

There is also the chance that you are a late bloomer and starting test will close your growth plates. I didn't grow my last 2 inches until 21-22.

good luck, and at least wait until you can squat 1.5 times your bodyweight, Please say you are squating...

What's your opinion on estrogen receptor antagonists such as Nolvadex or clomid?

Like I said, I have gyno (according to my endocrinist, it has to with with a hormonial imbalance caused by my diabetes). Would said antgonists help me in tis case?

Thanks again.

i would wait a few years it was the best advice here
but if you are like most and must do it only test is the best and start at lower doses
please be careful and let everyone know how and what you are doing
