Testosterone treatments linked with risk of heart problems, deaths | Fox News

According to the summary:

"In other words, the men who used testosterone therapy had a 30 percent increased risk of heart attack, stroke or dying, compared with men who didn't use the hormone, and the results held after being adjusted for several other factors that could have affected the outcomes, according to the study, published Nov. 5 in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA)".

If any of you out there fit the profile, you may want to have the chat with your doc.

You can skew any "study" if you either ask the right questions thus steering your answers, or pick a control group and let them be your "evidence".

I saw that and if you want to believe ANYTHING that basis it s alarmist outcry on a study that includes and relies heavily on a few key words like -

Can

May

Might

could potentialy

...you go ahead. I don t believe Fox or any other fuckin news outlet to do anything but MISINFORM me and keep my eyes off the ball and further coax me into sitting there watching crap getting fat while the country is going to shit fast....

.....but meanwhile, in Hollywood Paris Hilton ann5ounced she s starting a new line of female products for her female purse pet....aaaaawwwww

..or announcing the latest primate a Kardashian fucked divorced or got beaten by...
Those poor girls....

I feel better Paris...thank you....we re all good.

Wake up..read a book..do your own study...my cholesterol stays under 175..been on gear since since 1985...trt since 2006

And all the research showing low testosterone levels CAUSING the issues?

"people who cross the street have a 70% increase in chance of dying early"

So in your expert opinion Juced, should I refrain from crossing the street instead of not using exogenous testosterone since more ppl are likely to die early from crossing the street?

This is a great study and can provide valuable info to the TRT world. I would like to point out though that all subjects were at high risk for heart disease before taking the testosterone.

I saw this on fox this morning. They were already at risk for heart disease. But if there is validity to the study I believe it is most likely caused by TRT given without controlling E2 levels. High estradiol can cause heart problems, and exogenous testosterone even when given in physiological levels will cause higher estrogen because of the nature in which it is administered. Your body produces T constantly, while TRT is usually a shot of a week or twos worth of testosterone. The ester can only slow release so much, and this causes a spike that your body reacts to by aromatizing to estrogen.

Exactly! Another study that dismisses ESTRADIOL. I get so sick of seeing warnings about testosterone causing elevated blood pressure, edema, gynecomastia, prostate issues, sebaceous acne, and many other nasties that can be PREVENTED with the proper use of an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) if needed. I don't know if it's laziness, or they just want to slap that on there to scare folks. Drives me absolutely nuts!

The whole point of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is to fix your hormone levels. That doesn't mean just testosterone. Why can't doctors grasp that?

I couldn't tell you.
One of my endo's (he didn't last long) actually told me "I only replace what's missing, you're missing test and that's all I'll prescribe"

That was my last visit with that knucklehead.

I think they're all told that people seeking Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) are really in it for the OOH MUSCLE MASS MAKING SUPER HORMONE OF POWER!!! So of course, they're all skeptical and try to make it as hard as they can. I know I got the second degree until my TT panel came back with values similar to a 14 year old girl. His tune changed (I didn't think you could be that big and suffer from low T!) significantly, but they're so scared of us mortals having access apparently.

Give it a few more years of the baby boomers seeking HRT; I bet they will open the floodgates eventually. Heck, I'm waiting for the day when nandrolone has it's stigma removed as I think it would benefit many of us with crappy joint issues. ;)

So you notice the comments on your physique are some of the first words out of their mouth too eh?

I'm honestly dreading my appointment later this month. I've lost a bit of body fat (thanks 3J!) and have continued to grow; especially in my shoulders. He's going to say something, I know it. Of course I dread it also because it's time for that dreaded digital prostate exam. Thank god he's a small asian with little hands! LOL

But yes, I honestly think that my frame and overall size is what kept docs from even looking into hormones for so long. I only wish the internet had resources like this back when I started noticing things weren't "quite right".

Just roll in already lubed up with some sparkles in the crease and see what happens.

I bet you walk out without the DRE lol.

OP here. No worries. But I was remembering, while reading your response, that anger management issues, according to another U of T study, was shown to make a man's testicles bigger but scrotum smaller :spin:
Who can say what the difference was between the two study groups. Perhaps the guys on T were having more sex and just generally more fun that they guys who didn't. Not to temp fate, but I would prefer to be in that group and went out with a smile, rather than the poor saps who sat at home and rusted into oblivion.

Shit!!! I've been keeping my exogenous testosterone across the street.

I am going to say this, and it may not be popular. But somewhere in the recesses of most of our minds, we think about it. Testosterone is why men die before women. It is why men die of cardiac issues at a greater rate than women. The proof isn't there, but that is most likely because there is pharmaceutical money that prevents studies of that nature, and most scientist don't want to study drug abuse. Now here is the point: I decided a long time ago that living wasn't about biological life. Statistically, I shouldn't ride a motorcycle. I have two, just in case I smash one and live; I can ride when I get home. I climbed Mount Everest last year even though, statistically, I had a 10% chance of death even if I made the top...and I did (I built the ultimate high altitude AAS stack--for anyone who wants to know). They said my big ass had no chance--FUCK YOU...TAKE THE MONEY AND GIVE ME MY TENT. Statistically, a pencil pushing nerd shouldn't be able to score an elite total...fucking watch me.

AAS allow you to beat your genetic allowance. Nature/God (whatever you believe) gave you a certain allotment...and you weren't satisfied with it. Its like when you were a kid and ran your paper route for $5 bucks but managed to show up at home with a $300 dollar game console that you couldn't afford, but they know you didn't steal. You hustled for it. I hustle my life. I hustle nature. Fuck the $5 bucks...I want more.

Now will I have to pay? Maybe...maybe not. But I have lived my life beyond my potential, and I am ok with the check after that meal. On some level we all know this which is why we say "find your genetic potential first--then juice" because at the end of the day we all suspect that there may be a consequence associated with our actions, and we all want to know what we paid for with those consequences. If you juiced at 17 to get some bullshit abs, go on trt, and pay with your life at 60--you knew, suspected, or should have known. In the end it depends on many genetic factors. My father smoked for 40 years...died of Creutzfeldt Jakob disease--Talk about a bad fucking hand. I learned more from that drunk in death more than I ever learned from him in life.

A few of you will read this and say: Fuck that guy, he is just lying/bragging. Truth is--what is the difference? I no more feel obligated to lie to you by internet tall tales or to impress you with fantastic details of my life than I feel obligated to some swollen bellied african child that I see some fat guy begging me to feed at night when I can't sleep. I just wanted my couple of pennies in on this one for some perspective on why some people do what it is that we all do. I don't do this to cheat...I do this to be physically better than I could ever hope to genetically be with maximal effort. I don't cheat society...I beat nature. If I knew you were selling 60 years of awesome in a 10ml vial with no chance of 70....I would buy that shit in bulk.

Why wouldn't this post be popular? You just spewed awesome-sauce all over this thread! I really can't even think of anything to add to such a well crafted and DAMN insightful post. So, I'll just leave this:
