Upper Body Strength Training Routine for MMA Athletes

off the top of my head??? deadlifts.. bench press.. military press..

look at the motions you would have to do with your upper body in mma..

your posture is important, deadlift and do good mornings

your ability to push someone off is important, bench

the possibility of pushing someone over your shoulders is important when mounted or in north south, military press

I'd think just good old fashioned compound push movements and compound pull movements would be sufficient to build strength for mma if done in the lower (but explosive) rep range.

ex. standing military presses (standing so you can use your core strength and stabilizers) explosive, with heavy weight for 5 reps.

using compound movements where you can concentrate on using your core and stabilizer muscles will also help increase athletic strength.
