Weak Bicep

tunedx

I am banned!
My right bicep is alot weaker then the left and I tend to use my shoulder to the meet the same rep range as the left. Any suggestions on how to build the strength up evenly?

Use dumbells. It will eventually catch up. I have the same issue except with my right arm.
Avoid lifts with bars where you can cheat and be biased to the stronger arm.

Try bent over concentration curls with a dumbell. Let your harm hang down, dont brace it and definately dont swing it. Concentrate on your form, start with your weaker arm and stop when it fails (using a weight heavy enough for 3 good sets).

That's a good way to really hit your biceps evenly imo.

I have the same problem. I'm a righty so think that has something to do with it... although mine isnt exactly weeker it just looks smaller

Thks for the input. This is one excercise I overlook. I trained shoulders and biceps yesterday and for once my biceps are sore today. I made sure to concentrate on my form. Did three sets of BB curls (21's) and finished off with alternating incline DB curls.

Very nice! I definately enjoy throwing in 21s every few weeks. I find finishing with moderately light weight preacher curls, high reps, and fully extending my arms to stretch and squeezing hard at the top really kills.

Any other bi-lateral biceps excercises u recommend for strengthing weak arm other then your popular ones eg alternating db curls or concentration curls.....

The only other thing I can really recommend, is curling with a cable pulley machine. You have the contraction weight, but your also supporting the weight on release. You can focus on one arm at a time with your back to the pulley. Keep it slow on the release.

Good luck!

I will give that a go!!

Dumbells, then do Preacher curls(one hand at a time DB) and Zottman curls. Focus on squeezing at the peak, and really put your mind into the workout. Lower your stronger arms rep rang to meet the laggin and go from there.

Also use it more. I am right handed and when I first started lifting my left arm was waaaay smaller. So I started using it to write with, to brush my teeth with, to do basic things. Everything but eat.

Speeds up the process alot.
