Week off during a cycle?

Ok, went to do chest today and my tricep started killing me. Couldn't even make it through the workout. So I stopped before I risked hurting it. Question is, would taking a week off completely and giving my body a week to heal up be a bad idea? I know when I'm off, I normally schedule a week off about every 7 weeks.
Seems like it might not be a bad idea, my only question is should I keep my calorie intake as high as when I was training? Any thoughts?
 
in my experience you should keep it just as high. resting for one week would allow you to come back stronger than ever.
 
week off for tricepts

A week off from everything or from tricepts? I would just focus on other muscle groups instead for a week or just do cardio but that's me. imo
