weight gainer?

hey... first let me say if any of you know a0cake this isnt him... its his friend posting on his name... he actually is in basic training right now

anyways heres my story

im 6'3 and 185 lbs... i play rugby for Elon University.... i play 2nd row in the pack (for all you that know rugby) so to say the least im underweight for my position..

im trying to gain some weight and strength before the spring season... i know alot about diet but its just too hard to get enough good food at college to gain weight..

sooo i was looking into some weight gainer at GNC... either Weight gainer 2200 gold or Mass XXX... i was wondering if these products do anything or if im better off with some basic whey protine?

or can any of you recommend a good suppliment for my situation?

Well first I understand how hard it could be for you to gain weight. I'm 6'2", senior in college. Over the past 2.5 years I have went from 155lbs to 224lbs. It can be done regardless of whether you're going to school or not. You need to eat more, plain and simple. However, if you want assist your diet with a weight gainer, then I would recommend Cytosport's CytoGainer or Prolab's N-Large II. That if for gaining weight, due to the great amount of carbohydrates. If you're really wanting to gain weight, wake up in the middle of the night and drink one of these shakes....good luck bro
 
Get some oatmeal and put it in a coffee grinder or blender.
Turn machine on and oats will turn into a powder.
Add Oats to Protein shake.

You now have a high protein, high complex carb shake.

Want some good fat in there:
EVOO
Flax Oil
Natural Peanut Butter

This is far better than any commercial weight gainer. Zero sugar, and all quality calories.
 
both good suggestions. if you're looking for a store bought gainer, i reccomend cytosports cytogainer. great taste, and the composition is above standard.however, you pay for it($). if you go into gnc, ask them to price match vitamin world's 50% off sale. i use this ruse everytime i have to go to gnc- thay are kinda dumb at the local gnc. good luck.eat,eat,eat.....
 
Sugar is the worst thing you can have, I personally take in a good amount more fat than sugar. You want quality complex carbs for nice gains. Look how many barrell asses you see around sippin on soda...

This guy knows his stuff. Listen to him! Also, pure carb powder is another choice which I use. Weight gainers have alot of unhealthy stuff in them.
 
Stick to pure supps, like pure whey, pure carb powder etc etc. Keep it as clean as possible if your going to use something for a long time. Weight gainer also has alot of fat and carb powder has none. There are MANY other bad things in weight gainer. Read the labels and know what EVERYTHING is before using it!!!!
 
wtf? i was just about to make a post saying this screen name is for sale haha. I knew this guy from like 2 years ago, he told me his pass and its been saved in my favorites lol. thats so random that on the day i decide to make this I see last post...2 days ago.
