Went to see the TRT clinic. HCG mono protocol

Just like Dr. Scally says:

"HCG mono protocol is a non starter."

When I was on it I used 350 I.u. 3 times a week. I was 582 ng/dl TT natty and after 2 months I tested 965 ng/dl TT.
I was on 1050 I.u. a week. I used adex too. 0.25 mg EOD.
At that dose you could go E3D with the ADEX....
You're running 2k I.u. a week.
How do you dose it ?
E3D or something ? At 1000 I.u. a time?

The Dr actually recommended I take a product containing Tongat Ali and DIM, saying that it would control E2. I asked about an AI, but the Dr said that it would be better to control E2 with natural remedies. I didn't believe it, so I started taking 1/4 tab or Adex 2x a week on my own and it brought my E2 down to 23 from 35. At my next appointment the Dr said that the herbs were working!

I did take 20mg of T cream a day for about a month of the monotherapy as my symptoms hadn't improved and the Dr said I could try it, and the second BW (when my level was just over 700) was with 20mg of T cream a day and 1,000 IUs of HCG 2x a week. I have been off the cream and using only the HCG for the last month.

I'm worried I won't be able to stay on the monotherapy too long, as it's been 3 months already. I'm either going to come off the mono now (I'll crash because I don't have any Clomid) and redo BW in a month, then either 1) go back on mono for 2 more months 2) try to go without anything or 3) commit to TRT. Or I could do 2 more months of mono (I already have the HCG) and postpone the decision. I just don't know if the mono is going to help me that much more if it's only raised my TT by 300. Maybe I should just commit to TRT now?

I didn't mean to hijack your thread JT19, but hopefully some of my experiences will help you decide what to do when you get to the 3 month point in monotherapy...

Find a better doctor my friend.

I'm getting another opinion in 2 weeks, so in the meantime I probably have nothing to lose in continuing the monotherapy for another month or two...at least I won't crash.

APOLLON, what's your opinion on pregnenelone/DHEA while on mono? Is it beneficial to use 50mg of each, or is it a waste?

What was your T level before starting HRT?
LH/FSH as well.
How old r u btw?

Ppl stay on it for years..
Remember to take zinc while on it. Its needed to make T
Your dose is high though...
Any anxiety, depression?

Your doc uses creams on men?
Screw the cream. Creams do nothing.
Read KC in Toronto s thread where his quack gp put him on cream and it raised no T and instead elevated his estradiol.....lol

I'm 45yo, and before starting mono, my total T was 403 (250-1100), free T was 60 (46-224), bio T was 134 (110-575), SHBG was 27 (10-50), E2 was 35 (< or = 29), LH was 3.1 (1.5-9.3).

After 2 months of mono and 1 month of mono + 20mg T cream a day my levels went to: total T was 719, free T was 70, BaT was 144, SHBG was 51, E2 was 23 (same reference ranges). That's pretty disappointing for 1,000 IUs 2x a week for 3 months. My Dr blamed the spike in SHBG and the lack of progress on stress and told me to meditate and take an herbal supplement for adrenal support. The current plan is to go off everything and retest in a month. If my levels are low, my Dr wants to put me on a T pellet with 125 IUs of HCG 2x a week.

I haven't had any anxiety or depression, but I have felt lethargic and my libido is nonexistent on the HCG (because of my low free/BaT). Everyday I'm taking 30mg zinc, 6,000 IUs of D3, tongat ali 1,000mg, and stinging nettle 1,000mg (to help lower SHBG).
