What are some good peak bicep lifts?

Swolehead1

Im here for the gangbang
Hey all on arm day i have been doing dumbell curls in an inclined bench, which work very well. But now my biceps are really wide and not tall. What are some good bicep lifts I can do to improve the peak and make the muscle a little taller?

Bad new is, as already stated it's genetics bro. However the good news is.. from the pic's you posted in a previous thread, I will say that your bicep appearence will improve as you lose BF. Your pretty thick right now and your not really seeing the true outline of your bi's. Once you decide to start cutting or lower BF, add some bicep sets that get into higher reps. This will aid in defining and hardening the bi's as you trim the bulk away.

I was told by a guy I work with that close grip curls will help with peak and wide grip will help with girth. Any truth to this?

I think JayC is the most on point here. This isnt the first time I have lifted weights. There have been times where my bicep has been taller and more shaped. Maybe I was doing different curls maybe i have more excess bodyfat, but I know its not a gene thing for me, so please stop saying that shit!

It's your Genes..... LOL!!!

Soz bro js had to... well if you had a peak in the past then only you have the real answer to what works for your body you have the answer already just open your mind and dig through those memory banks.

Im gonna try to do isolated bar curls tomorrow. I havent done them in a while and I think the way it works the negative portion of curls may help with what im looking for.

JayC told you the same thing everyone else told you: your muscle shape is genetic. So yes, it is "a gene thing for you." If at one point your biceps were "taller and more shaped", it was because they were bigger and you were leaner, not because you forced your muscle into a new shape by bending your arm in a different fashion than you had been previously.

Thanks for the info all, i will find out for myself. If i had the muscle the way I wanted before I can get it again, I dont need a bunch of people shoving a gene theory down my throat.

"Not the truth! NOOO!!!"

And yeah, you're missing the point. The point is... you're going to be wasting your time trying to isolate one part of the muscle versus the other, etc etc, when that is not what will give you the result you are looking for. It sounds like losing some bodyfat and getting more definition in your arms is what you need. A zillion different kinds of curls aren't going to help with that.

LOLz..

Swole: I only confirm because I've been there.. I've been told the same thing by gym rats.. Look at my avatar.. I'm naturally thick and stocky and had the same thick flat biceps... until I trimmed down, then wham!!.. nice round peacked bi's. ;) Good luck!

cant shape a muscle. you can only make it bigger or smaller.

I have to strongly disagree with that statement. Ive had lagging areas of certain parts of my muscles that i was able to bring up through hitting the sports directly through training(e.g., the inside head of my tricep, the wideness of my lats, put more size onto my bracchialis to create the look of more seperation in my bicep)
