What are things you know now that you wish you knew...

lower volume and training each bodypart only once per week directly but then to failure with only a moderate amount of sets.

Well everything? I knew SHIT when i first put my fot in the gym. But as time went i started reading, alot... and then trying out stuff and getting to know my body.. then eating right and all of that. everything follows.

Bast, After 25 years of this game I still learn new stuff every day that works for my body, it will just never seem to end...

diet, and more power and strenght work, i abandoned alot of it after football in hs. I never deadlifted until i was 24, and didn't squat again till then either. I wish i knew that supps for the most part didn't work and i could make 10x the gians on 500mg of cyp a week. i wish i was not so heavily in to drinking and drugs from 18-23. But you live and learn.

In-Human: exactly! the more you learn the more you realise how little you actually know... :)
I would also want to have started out seriously when i was around 13-14 also..

train hard, but by all means keep an eye out for the future! i have so many injuries from my younger lifting days b/c i was training for RIGHT THEN, not for the long haul...make keepable gains.

exactly. I wish i had taken better care of my body over the years instead of just trying to constantly thrash myself.
train hard, but train smart

FORM FORM FORM FORM

DIET DIET DIET DIET

and i would have liked to have known that magazines are full of shit.
i would have liked to have known that a lot of these diets and workouts are for people on gear, or people over 200 lbs.

i would have like to have known about this site a few weeks b4 i started training..

and i would have liked to have known about protein shakes etc.

Mr DB I am with you there,
20 years of smoking, and sitting.. a 220 lb Blob. Stupid.
Now I run 3 miles in 20 and am at 190. Imagine what we would have looked like if we knew then what we know now. This site teaches me more everyday.

Oh yes my answer for all you young'uns. Take very good care of your body now as it has to last a life time.

well Im 19 and only been training 9 years but the so far I would have to say proper form all the time until you cant get anymore reps, then cheat a little. This had made a big differance.

Been training for 14 years.

1. Focusing more on diet. For the many years, I would just eat anything in hopes of getting big. I got big and strong but too fat. Then I trimmed down but lost too much muscle. Now, I fell like I'm at a pretty good point but I want to continually improve body comp.

2. Switching up training routines more often. For years I was in search of the "holy grail" of training routines until it hit me. Most of them work but only for so long.
